Specifications

A drop-in anchor is an internally threaded expansion shell: it sets flush in a drilled concrete hole, and whatever needs fastening — a threaded rod, a bolt, a machine screw — threads into it afterwards. That decoupling is the design advantage: the fixture does not need a through-hole or a stud protruding, the anchor sits flush for equipment that mounts flat against the base, and removable fixtures simply unscrew while the anchor stays. Selection runs on the thread series and the base-material duty: the collected guide lists M6–M16 as the common thread sizes, with body heights of 25 mm at M6, 30 mm at M8 and 40 mm at M10, and splits material by environment — galvanized carbon steel for general duty, stainless where corrosion or moisture rules it out. Installation needs the matching-diameter hole at body-length depth and a setting tool that drives the anchor to the bottom of the hole to trip the expansion. Capacity sits inside the mechanical expansion family band (M6–M24, embedment 40–150 mm family-wide), with values product-specific from the ETA or test data.

Type Internally threaded drop-in expansion anchor — sets flush; fastening happens afterwards with a threaded rod or bolt
Thread series M6, M8, M10, M12, M16 as the common thread sizes (guide figure; availability varies by maker)
Body heights M6 → 25 mm, M8 → 30 mm, M10 → 40 mm (collected selection guide)
Family size band M6–M24, effective embedment 40–150 mm (mechanical expansion family band; individual products vary)
Materials Galvanized carbon steel (general duty) or stainless steel (wet/corrosive environments) — select by environment, not by strength alone
Installation Drill the matching diameter to body-length depth, blow out dust, insert, and drive with a setting tool until the anchor seats at the hole bottom and expands
Fastening Threaded rod or machine bolt threads in after setting; removable fixtures unscrew without disturbing the anchor
Qualification basis Mechanical expansion family — ACI 355.2 / ETA under EAD 330232; capacity values product- and size-specific
MOQ / lead time 500–1,000 pieces; standard production 15–30 days

Drop-in anchors - embedment, torque, drill bit and pull-outValues as printed in the collected manufacturer technical data: average ultimate pull-out in 2,000 PSI concrete, offered as a guide only (4:1 safety factor basis). The collected table prints pull-out only — no shear values exist in the source. Minimum embedment for satisfactory performance is 4-1/2 bolt diameters.

Drop-in anchors - length and internal thread ladderValues as printed in the collected manufacturer technical data. The anchor diameter refers to the UNC thread size of the rod or bolt it accepts. Minimum spacing and edge distance repeat the values in the spacing table and are not repeated here.

Ordering & documentation

Documents

Shipments are backed by Mill Test Certificate (MTC), Dimensional Report, Salt Spray Test Report on request, with full batch traceability from raw material to finished product. Quality management follows the owner-confirmed compliance list: ISO 9001:2015, RoHS, REACH. Exact document sets are confirmed on the order.

Quotation

  • The fastener family (Drop-In Anchors) plus the standard designation from your drawing — DIN / ISO / JIS / ASTM / ANSI, or a drawing for custom parts.
  • Size (diameter and length), thread type (metric or inch), property class or grade, and coating or finish.
  • Quantity per size and your target delivery date.
  • Destination country, and any required documents (for example a mill test certificate) so the quote includes them.

Sample & supply

Minimum order quantity is 500–1,000 pieces. Standard production run 15–30 days. Quantities or variants outside the standard range are confirmed at quotation.

Storage & shipping

Parts are packed for export and shipped factory-direct to buyers in Europe, Asia, the Americas and the Middle East. Store fasteners dry and protected until installation, and keep coated parts in their packaging until use; specific packing and preservation requirements can be stated on the order and confirmed at quotation.

Frequently asked questions

When does a drop-in anchor make sense instead of a stud anchor?

When the fixture mounts flat or the fastening happens later. A wedge or screw anchor needs a through-hole in the fixture or leaves a stud protruding; a drop-in sets flush and accepts a threaded rod or bolt afterwards — so equipment bolts down flat, and removable items unscrew without touching the anchor. Typical uses are suspending services on threaded rod and mounting equipment pads. If the fixture has a through-hole and the load is high, the wedge anchor is the simpler choice.

What does the setting tool actually do?

It trips the expansion. The anchor drops into a hole drilled to body-length depth, then the setting tool drives it to the bottom of the hole — that force expands the shell against the hole wall at the correct depth. Skip the tool or stop short, and the anchor sits unexpanded at the top of an oversize hole with almost no capacity. Drill to the body length, clean the dust, and drive until the anchor seats at the bottom.

What is the MOQ and lead time for these anchors?

The minimum order quantity is 500–1,000 pieces. Standard production runs 15–30 days. Bent or custom geometries are quoted against the drawing.

What should an RFQ for these anchors state?

State the anchor family and designation, diameter, embedment or length, base-material condition (cracked or uncracked concrete, moisture), coating, and quantity per size — plus destination country and any required documents such as a mill test certificate. If your detail carries an ETA or ICC-ES report number, quote it so the anchor matches the approval.
