Specifications

Grade 36 is the baseline F1554 grade: a low-carbon steel anchor bolt with a 36 ksi minimum yield strength, used for the everyday column-base, equipment and light-structure anchorage where the structural design does not call for a higher-strength rod. It is ordered in straight rod or L-shaped (hooked) form, with hot-dip galvanizing available for exposed work.

Standard designation ASTM F1554 Grade 36
Material Low-carbon steel
Minimum yield strength 36 ksi (248 MPa)
Tensile strength 58–80 ksi
Elongation (2 in) 23%
Diameter range 1/4" – 4"
Form Straight rod or L-shaped (hook)
Coating Hot-dip galvanizing, zinc plated (blue/yellow), Geomet, Dacromet
Marking Grade color code on the unthreaded end

Ordering & documentation

Documents

Shipments are backed by Mill Test Certificate (MTC), Dimensional Report, Salt Spray Test Report on request, with full batch traceability from raw material to finished product. Quality management follows the owner-confirmed compliance list: ISO 9001:2015, RoHS, REACH. Exact document sets are confirmed on the order.

Quotation

  • The fastener family (F1554 Grade 36 Anchor Bolts) plus the standard designation from your drawing — DIN / ISO / JIS / ASTM / ANSI, or a drawing for custom parts.
  • Size (diameter and length), thread type (metric or inch), property class or grade, and coating or finish.
  • Quantity per size and your target delivery date.
  • Destination country, and any required documents (for example a mill test certificate) so the quote includes them.

Sample & supply

Minimum order quantity is 500–1,000 pieces. Standard production run 15–30 days. Quantities or variants outside the standard range are confirmed at quotation.

Storage & shipping

Parts are packed for export and shipped factory-direct to buyers in Europe, Asia, the Americas and the Middle East. Store fasteners dry and protected until installation, and keep coated parts in their packaging until use; specific packing and preservation requirements can be stated on the order and confirmed at quotation.

Frequently asked questions

Is F1554 Grade 36 the same as A36?

No. Both share a 36 ksi minimum yield strength, but A36 covers carbon structural steel shapes, plates and bars, while F1554 Grade 36 covers steel anchor bolts — distinct standards with different product scopes and requirements. Order the designation your drawing calls out; substituting one for the other is an engineering decision, not a purchasing one.

What is the MOQ and lead time for this grade?

The minimum order quantity is 500–1,000 pieces. Standard production runs 15–30 days. Bent or custom hook geometries are quoted against the drawing.

What should an RFQ for this grade state?

State the grade, diameter and thread callout (for example 1"-8 UNC), overall length and thread length, hook or straight-rod geometry, coating, and quantity per size — plus destination country and any required documents such as a mill test certificate. Thread and hook lengths differ by supplier and diameter, so read them from your drawing rather than a generic chart.
