Specifications

Grade 55 is the high-strength low-alloy step up from Grade 36: 55 ksi minimum yield at 75–95 ksi tensile, specified where base-plate loads or uplift demand more than a mild-steel rod can carry while the design still wants the weldability and ductility of the lower-strength grades. Supplied straight or L-shaped (hooked), with hot-dip galvanizing available.

Standard designation ASTM F1554 Grade 55
Material High-strength low-alloy steel (modified mild steel)
Minimum yield strength 55 ksi (380 MPa)
Tensile strength 75–95 ksi
Elongation (2 in) 21%
Diameter range 1/4" – 4"
Form Straight rod or L-shaped (hook)
Coating Hot-dip galvanizing, zinc plated (blue/yellow), Geomet, Dacromet
Marking Grade color code on the unthreaded end

Materials

  • High-strength low-alloy steel

Ordering & documentation

Documents

Shipments are backed by Mill Test Certificate (MTC), Dimensional Report, Salt Spray Test Report on request, with full batch traceability from raw material to finished product. Quality management follows the owner-confirmed compliance list: ISO 9001:2015, RoHS, REACH. Exact document sets are confirmed on the order.

Quotation

  • The fastener family (F1554 Grade 55 Anchor Bolts) plus the standard designation from your drawing — DIN / ISO / JIS / ASTM / ANSI, or a drawing for custom parts.
  • Size (diameter and length), thread type (metric or inch), property class or grade, and coating or finish.
  • Quantity per size and your target delivery date.
  • Destination country, and any required documents (for example a mill test certificate) so the quote includes them.

Sample & supply

Minimum order quantity is 500–1,000 pieces. Standard production run 15–30 days. Quantities or variants outside the standard range are confirmed at quotation.

Storage & shipping

Parts are packed for export and shipped factory-direct to buyers in Europe, Asia, the Americas and the Middle East. Store fasteners dry and protected until installation, and keep coated parts in their packaging until use; specific packing and preservation requirements can be stated on the order and confirmed at quotation.

Frequently asked questions

When does a design move from Grade 36 to Grade 55?

The grade follows the structural design: Grade 55 carries roughly half again the minimum yield of Grade 36 (55 ksi vs 36 ksi) with 75–95 ksi tensile, so engineers specify it where column-base uplift, shear or moment loads exceed what a mild-steel rod is rated for. Order the grade the engineer of record specified — substituting a grade is not a purchasing decision.

What is the MOQ and lead time for this grade?

The minimum order quantity is 500–1,000 pieces. Standard production runs 15–30 days. Bent or custom hook geometries are quoted against the drawing.

What should an RFQ for this grade state?

State the grade, diameter and thread callout (for example 1"-8 UNC), overall length and thread length, hook or straight-rod geometry, coating, and quantity per size — plus destination country and any required documents such as a mill test certificate. Thread and hook lengths differ by supplier and diameter, so read them from your drawing rather than a generic chart.
