Series SMPS / SMPP Thin-Sheet Self-Clinching Nuts
Reduced-outer-diameter clinch nuts for sheets as thin as 0.64 mm — SMPS in steel for steel or aluminium panels, SMPP in stainless for stainless sheets — in miniature threads #2-56 to #6-32 and M2.5 to M3.5.

Specifications
Series SMPS and SMPP are the thin-sheet, small-footprint members of the clinch-nut line: reduced outer dimensions and a minimum sheet thickness of just 0.025 in. / 0.64 mm, thinner than the standard S/SP series reach for the same thread sizes. SMPS, in steel, is recommended for steel or aluminium sheets at HRB 70 / HB 125 or less; SMPP, in stainless, for stainless-steel sheets at HRB 90 / HB 192 or less. The collected catalog tabulates the miniature unified threads #2-56 (.086-56), #4-40 (.112-40) and #6-32 (.138-32) and metric M2.5 x 0.45, M3 x 0.5 and M3.5 x 0.6 — the sizes typical of electronics enclosures, bracketry and instrument panels where sheet stock starts around 0.6 mm and a full-size clinch nut would overhang the hole or the edge. Edge-distance columns differ per variant (SMPS / SMPP printed separately), reflecting the different outer profiles.

Ordering & documentation
Documents
Shipments are backed by Mill Test Certificate (MTC), Dimensional Report, Salt Spray Test Report on request, with full batch traceability from raw material to finished product. Quality management follows the owner-confirmed compliance list: ISO 9001:2015, RoHS, REACH. Exact document sets are confirmed on the order.
Quotation
- The fastener family (Series SMPS / SMPP Thin-Sheet Self-Clinching Nuts) plus the standard designation from your drawing — DIN / ISO / JIS / ASTM / ANSI, or a drawing for custom parts.
- Size (diameter and length), thread type (metric or inch), property class or grade, and coating or finish.
- Quantity per size and your target delivery date.
- Destination country, and any required documents (for example a mill test certificate) so the quote includes them.
Sample & supply
Minimum order quantities and lead times for this family are confirmed at quotation — send your sizes, grades and quantities on the RFQ and the quote will carry a firm schedule. Sample availability is confirmed with the quotation.
Storage & shipping
Parts are packed for export and shipped factory-direct to buyers in Europe, Asia, the Americas and the Middle East. Store fasteners dry and protected until installation, and keep coated parts in their packaging until use; specific packing and preservation requirements can be stated on the order and confirmed at quotation.
Frequently asked questions
When do I need SMPS/SMPP instead of the standard S/SP series?
Two triggers: sheet thickness and space. The SMPS/SMPP series installs into sheets down to 0.64 mm, below where the standard series' tabulated minimums stop for comparable threads, and its reduced outer diameter fits tighter hole-to-edge clearances — the catalog prints separate edge-distance columns for the two variants for exactly this reason. The trade-off is thread size: the series covers the miniature range from #2-56 to #6-32 (M2.5 to M3.5), so larger threads stay on the standard series.
What should an RFQ for these self-clinching nuts state?
State the series (self-locking CFE/CFEO or non-locking CFEX/CFEOX), thread size and pitch (for example #10-32, 1/4-28, M4 x 0.7), sheet material and thickness, and sheet hardness where known (the collected sheet rates use in materials up to Rockwell B-70), plus quantity per size and destination country. Commercial terms are confirmed at quotation.
