E-Rings for Shafts, Heavy Duty (Series 2144–5144)
Heavy-duty E-type retaining rings for shafts, series 2144–5144 — three-point contact rings for grooves machined only partway around the shaft — with the collected 11-size table (rings 9 to 56): d2, d3, s, dg, d1, m, n and the source’s six supplementary columns.

Specifications
An E-ring is a three-pronged retaining ring that snaps into a short groove cut into one side of a shaft — not a full circle, so the shaft does not need a complete circumferential groove. The heavy-duty 2144–5144 series carries deeper grooves and higher loads than standard E-rings, at the cost of a deeper prong. The collected table lists rings 9 through 56 — 11 sizes — with d2 (plus per-size tolerance), d3 reference, s, dg, d1, m (plus tolerance), n min. and six supplementary columns under their printed labels. The collected page header prints "All measurements in millimeters (mm)", yet the value scale and the 2144–5144 series numbering follow the imperial retaining-ring convention; every figure below is reproduced exactly as printed and the unit question should be confirmed at quotation.

- Unit conflict (source-level, verified against the collected page): the source header prints "All measurements in millimeters (mm)" while every value follows the imperial retaining-ring convention — the 2144–5144 series numbering, the decimal-inch value scale and the supplementary load columns match the inch-series ring tables elsewhere in the same source programme. All figures are reproduced exactly as printed with no conversion; treat the dimensional columns as inch values and confirm units at quotation.

Ordering & documentation
Documents
Shipments are backed by Mill Test Certificate (MTC), Dimensional Report, Salt Spray Test Report on request, with full batch traceability from raw material to finished product. Quality management follows the owner-confirmed compliance list: ISO 9001:2015, RoHS, REACH. Exact document sets are confirmed on the order.
Quotation
- The fastener family (E-Rings for Shafts, Heavy Duty (Series 2144–5144)) plus the standard designation from your drawing — DIN / ISO / JIS / ASTM / ANSI, or a drawing for custom parts.
- Size (diameter and length), thread type (metric or inch), property class or grade, and coating or finish.
- Quantity per size and your target delivery date.
- Destination country, and any required documents (for example a mill test certificate) so the quote includes them.
Sample & supply
Minimum order quantities and lead times for this family are confirmed at quotation — send your sizes, grades and quantities on the RFQ and the quote will carry a firm schedule. Sample availability is confirmed with the quotation.
Storage & shipping
Parts are packed for export and shipped factory-direct to buyers in Europe, Asia, the Americas and the Middle East. Store fasteners dry and protected until installation, and keep coated parts in their packaging until use; specific packing and preservation requirements can be stated on the order and confirmed at quotation.
Frequently asked questions
Why choose an E-ring over a conventional circlip?
Groove access and shaft strength. The three prongs need only a short groove, so the ring can be installed after assembly, on shafts already seated in bearings or housings, and the shaft keeps most of its section intact. The penalty is load capacity concentrated at three contact points — fine for locating bearings, gears and idlers, not for heavy continuous thrust. Size by shaft diameter against the collected table’s d2 groove column and confirm the thrust figure for your condition at quotation.
