Specifications

DIN 674 is the small-series solid rivet with a flat round (dome) head: a plain solid shank driven cold or hot so the tail spreads into a second head, closing sheet, leather, light brackets and hobby-scale fabrication where a blind hole is not needed and both sides are reachable. The collected table runs nominal d1 = 1,4 to 6 mm — well below the hot-rivet structural series — and carries per size the head diameter d2 (3,2 mm at the 1,4 mm rivet stepping up to 13,5 mm at the 6 mm), so the head is roughly 2,2–2,5× the shank, plus the head dimensions e and k as lettered by the source. Sizing at the bench: drill the hole a touch over the shank (the shank must pass freely — solid rivets close by bulging into the hole), cut the tail to about one shank-diameter of projection, and set the head against solid backing. Where only one side is reachable, the blind rivet pages in this family take over; where the head must sit flush, the countersunk DIN 661 series is the counterpart. Materials (aluminium, brass, mild steel and copper all appear in the trade at this size range) and the length ladder are not tabulated by the collected specification — per RFQ.

Standard DIN 674 — flat round head rivets (solid shank, two-side access required)
Size range Nominal d1 1,4 – 6 mm, nine sizes in the collected ladder (1,4 / 1,6 / 2 / 2,5 / 3 / (3,5) / 4 / 5 / 6)
Head diameter d2: 3,2 → 13,5 mm across the ladder (≈2,2–2,5× the shank at every size)
Head geometry e: 0,7 → 3 mm; k: 0,7 → 3 mm as lettered by the source
Materials / length ladder Not tabulated by the collected specification — per RFQ (state material, length and setting method at quotation)
DIN 674 flat round head rivets — head diameter and head geometry, nominal d 1,4–6 mmAll dimensions in millimetres, comma decimal separators preserved from the source. The source serves the table transposed (parameters as rows, nominal diameters as columns); the ladder below is transposed back to one row per size. d2 = head diameter; e and k are the head dimensions as lettered by the source (no fuller legend is printed). Shank length ladder is not tabulated by the source — per RFQ.

Materials

  • Material specified per RFQ — small-series solid rivets are supplied in aluminium, brass, steel and copper by application; state the joined materials and whether the joint will see moisture with the order

Ordering & documentation

Documents

Shipments are backed by Mill Test Certificate (MTC), Dimensional Report, Salt Spray Test Report on request, with full batch traceability from raw material to finished product. Quality management follows the owner-confirmed compliance list: ISO 9001:2015, RoHS, REACH. Exact document sets are confirmed on the order.

Quotation

  • The fastener family (DIN 674 Flat Round Head Rivets) plus the standard designation from your drawing — DIN / ISO / JIS / ASTM / ANSI, or a drawing for custom parts.
  • Size (diameter and length), thread type (metric or inch), property class or grade, and coating or finish.
  • Quantity per size and your target delivery date.
  • Destination country, and any required documents (for example a mill test certificate) so the quote includes them.

Sample & supply

Minimum order quantity is 10,000–50,000 pieces depending on size. Standard production run 10–20 days. Quantities or variants outside the standard range are confirmed at quotation.

Storage & shipping

Parts are packed for export and shipped factory-direct to buyers in Europe, Asia, the Americas and the Middle East. Store fasteners dry and protected until installation, and keep coated parts in their packaging until use; specific packing and preservation requirements can be stated on the order and confirmed at quotation.

Frequently asked questions

When does a DIN 674 solid rivet beat a blind rivet, and what does the table decide?

A solid rivet wins when both sides of the joint are reachable and the joint wants the cheapest, most vibration-proof permanent fastener with no mandrel void down the middle — a blind rivet always leaves the mandrel stub and a hollow body. What the collected table decides is the head print: it gives the head diameter d2 for every shank from 1,4 to 6 mm (3,2 → 13,5 mm), which is the number your bucking bar and head-clearance check need, plus the head dimensions e and k as printed. What it does not give: the length ladder and the material — pick length as shank grip plus roughly one shank diameter of tail to close, and state material (aluminium closes cold; steel may want heat at the upper sizes) on the RFQ. Two cautions from the capture: the 3,5 mm size is printed in parentheses — the non-preferred marker — so confirm stock before drawing it in, and the source letters e and k without a legend, so verify against the standard before quoting those cells in a drawing.
