Peel Blind Rivets

Peel blind rivets — the soft-material variant whose body splits into four legs and spreads the set load over a large blind-side footprint. For plastics, wood, resin, thin sheet and license-plate fastening; a retained-mandrel "T" version raises shear strength, and plastic caps cover the set head.

Specifications

A peel blind rivet is built for materials that a standard blind rivet would crush or pull through: on setting, the body splits into four legs and the mandrel head is ejected, so the clamp spreads over four wide feet instead of a single bulge. The collected manufacturer line names the application set directly — soft or thin materials such as license plates, plastic, wood, resin and thin metal sheets. Two refinements matter in selection: the "T" version retains the mandrel head after installation for excellent shear strength (the ejected-mandrel standard form gives up that shear path), and leak-proof treatment is available on request. The visible trade is the blind side: the four-leg spread needs clearance behind the sheet and leaves a wider footprint, which is also why plastic caps exist in the line to cover the set head on cosmetic panels. Set with standard blind-rivet tooling; the strength figures below are line-specific — the 4.8 mm aluminium/galvanised-steel row runs higher in shear than tensile, an inversion of the usual blind-rivet pattern worth noting when rating the joint.

Type Peel blind rivet — body splits into four legs on setting; mandrel head ejected (standard) or retained (T version)
Blind-side footprint Four-leg spread gives a large secondary bearing area for soft or brittle parents — plastics, wood, resin, thin sheet
Target materials (manufacturer line) License plates, plastic, wood, resin, thin metal sheets
T version Mandrel head retained after installation for excellent shear strength; leak-proof treatment on request
Cosmetic option Plastic caps available in the line to cover the set head

Ordering & documentation

Documents

Shipments are backed by Mill Test Certificate (MTC), Dimensional Report, Salt Spray Test Report on request, with full batch traceability from raw material to finished product. Quality management follows the owner-confirmed compliance list: ISO 9001:2015, RoHS, REACH. Exact document sets are confirmed on the order.

Quotation

  • The fastener family (Peel Blind Rivets) plus the standard designation from your drawing — DIN / ISO / JIS / ASTM / ANSI, or a drawing for custom parts.
  • Size (diameter and length), thread type (metric or inch), property class or grade, and coating or finish.
  • Quantity per size and your target delivery date.
  • Destination country, and any required documents (for example a mill test certificate) so the quote includes them.

Sample & supply

Minimum order quantity is 10,000–50,000 pieces depending on size. Standard production run 10–20 days. Quantities or variants outside the standard range are confirmed at quotation.

Storage & shipping

Parts are packed for export and shipped factory-direct to buyers in Europe, Asia, the Americas and the Middle East. Store fasteners dry and protected until installation, and keep coated parts in their packaging until use; specific packing and preservation requirements can be stated on the order and confirmed at quotation.

Frequently asked questions

Why four legs instead of the standard expanded body?

Because the failure mode it answers is pull-through. In soft or brittle parents — plastic, wood, resin — a standard blind rivet concentrates the blind-side clamp in one bulge and either crushes the material or tears out. Four split legs distribute the clamp over a wide footprint, so the joint holds in material that cannot resist a point load. The cost is blind-side clearance and a wider footprint: check what sits behind the sheet before specifying, and use the T version where the joint also carries shear, since the standard ejected-mandrel form leaves the four legs as its only mechanical lock.

What is the MOQ and lead time for these rivets?

Minimum order quantity is 10,000–50,000 pieces depending on size and material. Standard production lead time is 10–20 days. Common blind rivet sizes are widely stocked — confirm the exact schedule against quantity and size mix at quotation.

What should an RFQ for these rivets state?

State the rivet subtype (open-end, closed-end, structural blind rivet or rivet nut), body diameter, grip range or total material thickness, head style (dome, countersunk or large flange), body and mandrel materials (for example aluminum body with steel mandrel, or all-stainless), finish, required certificates such as a mill test report per EN 10204 3.1, and quantity per size — plus destination country.
