Specifications

The DIN 125 flat washer is the default bearing part of a bolted joint: it spreads the clamp load, covers the clearance hole, and gives the nut or bolt head a true face to turn against. Form A is the standard chamfered series; Form B is the unchamfered counterpart. Hardness matters when pairing with the bolt: the 200 HV plain washer is dimensioned for assemblies up to property class 8.8 — a class 10.9 or 12.9 joint needs a hardened washer instead, because the hardened nut face will dish and embed into an unhardened washer and bleed off preload. For oversize or slotted holes and soft sheet, step up to the large-series DIN 9021 washer.

Standard DIN 125 Form A/B — plain washers for hex bolts and nuts (ISO 7089 counterpart)
Hardness class 200 HV plain washer — dimensioned for assemblies up to property class 8.8
Example size (M10) 20 mm outer diameter × 10.5 mm inner diameter — about 228 mm² bearing area
Function Distributes the clamp load and gives the nut or head a true bearing face
Class pairing Up to class 8.8; class 10.9/12.9 joints call for a hardened washer instead
Typical applications General bolted joints through clearance holes in steel, stainless and brass builds

  • Row 21 (M45): The source table labels "M45" twice; the second M45 row (50/92/8, weight 294) is the M48 series step mislabeled by the source and is dropped here — the correct "M48" designation is not printed in the source.
  • Row 23 (M56): After the M56 row the source prints "M58" (60/110/9, weight 471); the dimension step matches M60, so the label is a source misprint. The row is dropped — the correct "M60" designation is not printed in the source.

Ordering & documentation

Documents

Shipments are backed by Mill Test Certificate (MTC), Dimensional Report, Salt Spray Test Report on request, with full batch traceability from raw material to finished product. Quality management follows the owner-confirmed compliance list: ISO 9001:2015, RoHS, REACH. Exact document sets are confirmed on the order.

Quotation

  • The fastener family (DIN 125 Plain Flat Washers (Form A/B)) plus the standard designation from your drawing — DIN / ISO / JIS / ASTM / ANSI, or a drawing for custom parts.
  • Size (diameter and length), thread type (metric or inch), property class or grade, and coating or finish.
  • Quantity per size and your target delivery date.
  • Destination country, and any required documents (for example a mill test certificate) so the quote includes them.

Sample & supply

Minimum order quantity is 10,000 pieces. Stock items run 3–7 days. Quantities or variants outside the standard range are confirmed at quotation.

Storage & shipping

Parts are packed for export and shipped factory-direct to buyers in Europe, Asia, the Americas and the Middle East. Store fasteners dry and protected until installation, and keep coated parts in their packaging until use; specific packing and preservation requirements can be stated on the order and confirmed at quotation.

Frequently asked questions

When does a DIN 125 washer need to be upgraded?

Two directions of upgrade, both driven by the joint. Against higher-strength bolts — property class 10.9 or 12.9 — the 200 HV plain washer is no longer enough: the hardened nut face dishes and embeds into it under load, so a hardened washer (ASTM F436 or the metric structural equivalents) belongs in the assembly. Against a slotted or oversized hole, or a soft substrate such as sheet or plastic, the standard outer diameter no longer covers the hole — the large-series DIN 9021 / ISO 7093 washer spreads the bearing instead. For ordinary class 8.8-and-below joints through normal clearance holes, DIN 125 is the correct, economical default.

What is the MOQ and lead time for this washer type?

The minimum order quantity is 10,000 pieces. Stock items ship in 3–7 days; non-stock items are confirmed at quotation. Common sizes in this washer type are widely stocked; confirm the exact schedule against quantity and size mix at quotation.

What should an RFQ for this washer type state?

State the standard designation (for example DIN 125 or ASTM F436), the nominal bolt size it must fit, material and hardness requirements, finish (plain, zinc-plated, or hot-dip galvanized where the assembly calls for it), required certificates such as a mill test report per EN 10204 3.1, and quantity per size — plus destination country.
