DIN 6798 J Serrated Lock Washers (Type J)
DIN 6798 J serrated lock washers, type J internal-tooth form — washer sizes 1.7 to 31 for threads M1.6 to M30, the toothed anti-rotation washer that bites flat faces, with the collected hole/outside-diameter/tooth-count ladder and kg/1000 figures.

Specifications
DIN 6798 J is the flat-form serrated lock washer: a hardened washer whose rim carries radial teeth (the tooth-count row is tabulated per size, 7 teeth at the small end rising to 18 at size 31) that bite into both faces when the joint is tightened, resisting rotation in place of — or alongside — a spring washer, without the helical split washer's softness on wide bearing faces. The collected ladder runs washer sizes 1.7 → 31 (the size is the nominal hole diameter), each table printing its nominal thread mapping as a footer row: size 3.2 takes M3, size 8.4 takes M8, size 25 takes M24. Order by thread through the mapping, then read the bore tolerance (min/max rows) and outside diameter (d c) for the clearance and bearing checks; the kg/1000 column runs 0.02 kg at size 1.7 to 14 kg at size 31. The type V form is the companion for countersunk-head assemblies. Tooth hardness, spring temper and finish are not tabulated by the collected specification — per RFQ (state the substrate the teeth must bite — steel, aluminium, painted — because tooth penetration is what carries the locking).

Materials
- Material specified per RFQ — serrated lock washers are usually spring steel (often through-hardened); the collected table does not tabulate temper, hardness or finish, so state the joint materials and environment at quotation
Ordering & documentation
Documents
Shipments are backed by Mill Test Certificate (MTC), Dimensional Report, Salt Spray Test Report on request, with full batch traceability from raw material to finished product. Quality management follows the owner-confirmed compliance list: ISO 9001:2015, RoHS, REACH. Exact document sets are confirmed on the order.
Quotation
- The fastener family (DIN 6798 J Serrated Lock Washers (Type J)) plus the standard designation from your drawing — DIN / ISO / JIS / ASTM / ANSI, or a drawing for custom parts.
- Size (diameter and length), thread type (metric or inch), property class or grade, and coating or finish.
- Quantity per size and your target delivery date.
- Destination country, and any required documents (for example a mill test certificate) so the quote includes them.
Sample & supply
Minimum order quantity is 10,000 pieces. Stock items run 3–7 days. Quantities or variants outside the standard range are confirmed at quotation.
Storage & shipping
Parts are packed for export and shipped factory-direct to buyers in Europe, Asia, the Americas and the Middle East. Store fasteners dry and protected until installation, and keep coated parts in their packaging until use; specific packing and preservation requirements can be stated on the order and confirmed at quotation.
Frequently asked questions
Type J or type V serrated washer — how do I choose?
By the head that sits on it. Type J is the flat form — the teeth bite a flat bearing face under a hex head or nut, which is the ordinary machine-joint case. Type V is the countersunk form: a bevelled washer matched to countersunk and raised-countersunk heads, where a flat washer would seat only on the head's rim and leave the cone unsupported. Compare the two ladders in this catalog and the geometry difference is visible — the V form carries a single outside-diameter and thickness value per size (no min/max split) and different tooth counts at the same nominal size (10 teeth minimum at size 2.2 versus the J form's 7 at size 1.7 — the forms are tabulated on their own size series). Both share the fail-closed evidence line: neither collected table prints hardness or finish, so tooth substrate and coating go on the RFQ.
