DIN 6797 Toothed Lock Washers (Types A / J / V)
Toothed lock washers per DIN 6797 in all three forms — Type A external teeth, Type J internal teeth, Type V countersunk. The teeth bite into nut and joint faces under the preload, resisting rotation in small-screw assemblies; the collected tables run Type A M1.6–M30, Type J M2–M30 and Type V M2–M16.

Specifications
DIN 6797 lock washers carry radial teeth that dig into both the bearing surface and the fastener face as the joint is tightened, raising resistance to rotational back-off in small-screw assemblies — electrical terminations, control gear, automotive components. Three forms cover the mounting situations: Type A with external teeth gives the widest bearing and the strongest bite on the joint face; Type J with internal teeth hides the tooth ring inside the fastener’s footprint for a cleaner bearing face; Type V is countersunk for use with countersunk head screws. The collected tables list tooth counts rising with size — 6 teeth at the smallest sizes to 14 at the largest on the A and J types — with hole, outer diameter, thickness t and per-size weights.

Ordering & documentation
Documents
Shipments are backed by Mill Test Certificate (MTC), Dimensional Report, Salt Spray Test Report on request, with full batch traceability from raw material to finished product. Quality management follows the owner-confirmed compliance list: ISO 9001:2015, RoHS, REACH. Exact document sets are confirmed on the order.
Quotation
- The fastener family (DIN 6797 Toothed Lock Washers (Types A / J / V)) plus the standard designation from your drawing — DIN / ISO / JIS / ASTM / ANSI, or a drawing for custom parts.
- Size (diameter and length), thread type (metric or inch), property class or grade, and coating or finish.
- Quantity per size and your target delivery date.
- Destination country, and any required documents (for example a mill test certificate) so the quote includes them.
Sample & supply
Minimum order quantity is 10,000 pieces. Stock items run 3–7 days. Quantities or variants outside the standard range are confirmed at quotation.
Storage & shipping
Parts are packed for export and shipped factory-direct to buyers in Europe, Asia, the Americas and the Middle East. Store fasteners dry and protected until installation, and keep coated parts in their packaging until use; specific packing and preservation requirements can be stated on the order and confirmed at quotation.
Frequently asked questions
External (Type A) or internal (Type J) teeth — how do I choose?
Choose by what the bearing face tolerates and what must stay clean. Type A puts the tooth ring outside the screw footprint: the strongest bite into the joint face, but it leaves serration marks on a wider ring — fine on unrefined surfaces, wrong on finished or sealing faces. Type J keeps the teeth inside the fastener’s footprint, so the damaged area is hidden under the head and the outside face stays clear — the usual pick on control gear and visible panels. Type V belongs to countersunk heads, where neither A nor J can bear. All three lock by the same mechanism: teeth embedded under preload resist rotation.
Can toothed lock washers be reused?
Treat them as single-use. The lock depends on teeth that have been pressed into their set depth against the mating faces; after removal those teeth have flattened at the tips and the faces they scored are already marked. A reused washer bites less and its embedded depth no longer matches the new seat. Where the assembly is serviced regularly, note the toothed washer as a renew-at-each-service item on the drawing — and where the joint must not mar the surface at all, choose a positive lock instead.
What is the MOQ and lead time for this washer type?
The minimum order quantity is 10,000 pieces. Stock items ship in 3–7 days; non-stock items are confirmed at quotation. Confirm the exact schedule against quantity and size mix at quotation.
