DIN 6798 Type A Serrated Lock Washers (External Teeth)
DIN 6798 Type A serrated lock washers with external teeth, washer sizes 1.7 to 31 — the toothed bearing washer that bites into both faces to resist rotation — with the full collected 20-size table: bore and outside diameters, thickness, tooth counts and the source's reference mass per 1000 units.

Specifications
DIN 6798 Type A is the externally serrated lock washer: a ring of punched, raised teeth around the outside edge that dig into the fastener's bearing face and the workpiece surface when tightened. The bite raises the rotational resistance of the joint at low cost, which is why serrated washers appear on brackets, motors and sheet-metal assemblies where a plain washer would let the screw walk loose under vibration. The collected table covers washer sizes 1.7 to 31 — keyed to the matching thread in the final For Nominal Thread Diameter column (M1.6 through M30) — with the bore d (nominal/min and max), outside diameter d c, minimum thickness t, the minimum Number of Teeth (9 to 22 across the series), and the source's reference mass per 1000 units. The internal-toothed counterpart is DIN 6798 Type J on the same specification; the conical-toothed DIN 6798 Type V bites on an angled face. For a toothless vibration solution see the DIN 6796 conical spring washer on this site. Materials and finishes are not printed by the collected specification and stay per RFQ.

Ordering & documentation
Documents
Shipments are backed by Mill Test Certificate (MTC), Dimensional Report, Salt Spray Test Report on request, with full batch traceability from raw material to finished product. Quality management follows the owner-confirmed compliance list: ISO 9001:2015, RoHS, REACH. Exact document sets are confirmed on the order.
Quotation
- The fastener family (DIN 6798 Type A Serrated Lock Washers (External Teeth)) plus the standard designation from your drawing — DIN / ISO / JIS / ASTM / ANSI, or a drawing for custom parts.
- Size (diameter and length), thread type (metric or inch), property class or grade, and coating or finish.
- Quantity per size and your target delivery date.
- Destination country, and any required documents (for example a mill test certificate) so the quote includes them.
Sample & supply
Minimum order quantity is 10,000 pieces. Stock items run 3–7 days. Quantities or variants outside the standard range are confirmed at quotation.
Storage & shipping
Parts are packed for export and shipped factory-direct to buyers in Europe, Asia, the Americas and the Middle East. Store fasteners dry and protected until installation, and keep coated parts in their packaging until use; specific packing and preservation requirements can be stated on the order and confirmed at quotation.
Frequently asked questions
External teeth (Type A) or internal teeth (Type J) — how do I choose?
By where the teeth should bite and what they may damage. Type A's outer teeth grip a wide ring of the workpiece surface — the strongest anti-rotation bite, but they leave cosmetic marks on visible faces and are meant for hard enough material to take the tooth impression. Type J's inner teeth bite into the fastener's bearing face under the head, keeping the workpiece surface clean and suiting smaller contact areas. Neither substitutes for proper preload: serrations raise the friction that holds a joint against vibration, but a joint sized for a safety-critical clamp should use a genuine spring element such as a DIN 6796 conical washer or a wedge-locking pair.
What is the MOQ and lead time for this washer type?
The minimum order quantity is 10,000 pieces. Stock items ship in 3–7 days; non-stock items are confirmed at quotation. Common sizes are widely stocked; confirm the exact schedule against quantity and size mix at quotation.
