DIN 1804 Slotted Round Nuts (for Hook Spanner)
Slotted round nuts per DIN 1804 for hook-spanner tightening — a plain cylindrical nut with radial slots on its face, tabulated from M6 through M200, the retaining nut for bearings, collars and shaft-mounted components.

Specifications
The DIN 1804 slotted round nut is the shaft-retaining classic: a cylindrical nut with slots cut into its face for a hook (crowfoot) spanner, threaded onto a shaft end to lock a bearing inner ring, gear, collar or pulley in position. Round means no hex corners to catch and no wrench swing needed — the hook spanner engages the face slots, so the nut fits into grooves, recesses and close-to-bearing positions where a hex nut simply cannot be turned. The shaft side of the system is the matching tab washer: a tongue from the washer bends into a shaft keyway and another into a nut slot, positively locking the nut against back-off. The collected table spans an unusually wide series — M6 to M200 — with outer diameter d2, face diameter d3, slot width b and depth t, slot count (4 slots in the small series growing to 8 at the large end), height h and per-100-unit weights per size. When you order, state the shaft thread and the tab washer standard alongside: the nut alone is only half of the axial lock.

Ordering & documentation
Documents
Shipments are backed by Mill Test Certificate (MTC), Dimensional Report, Salt Spray Test Report on request, with full batch traceability from raw material to finished product. Quality management follows the owner-confirmed compliance list: ISO 9001:2015, RoHS, REACH. Exact document sets are confirmed on the order.
Quotation
- The fastener family (DIN 1804 Slotted Round Nuts (for Hook Spanner)) plus the standard designation from your drawing — DIN / ISO / JIS / ASTM / ANSI, or a drawing for custom parts.
- Size (diameter and length), thread type (metric or inch), property class or grade, and coating or finish.
- Quantity per size and your target delivery date.
- Destination country, and any required documents (for example a mill test certificate) so the quote includes them.
Sample & supply
Minimum order quantity is 10,000 pieces. Stock items run 3–7 days. Quantities or variants outside the standard range are confirmed at quotation.
Storage & shipping
Parts are packed for export and shipped factory-direct to buyers in Europe, Asia, the Americas and the Middle East. Store fasteners dry and protected until installation, and keep coated parts in their packaging until use; specific packing and preservation requirements can be stated on the order and confirmed at quotation.
Frequently asked questions
How does a slotted round nut stay tight without a spring or friction element?
By positive mechanical lock, not friction. After the nut is tightened with the hook spanner, a tab washer seated on the shaft is bent: one tongue into a shaft keyway, one into the nearest nut slot. From that moment the nut cannot rotate without physically breaking the bent tab — the same locking philosophy as a DIN 463 tab washer, and immune to the temperature and vibration conditions that relax friction-type fasteners. Plan the assembly so a slot lands within reach of the washer tongue at final torque; that is why the slot count in the table grows with size, giving finer angular steps on large shafts.
What does the RFQ for a DIN 1804 nut need to state?
State the nominal shaft thread (the M designation), and confirm the mating tab washer standard and the bearing or component bore the nut retains — the nut, washer and seating shoulder work as one axial fixing. Add material and finish (many bearing-retaining nuts are specified in steel with a specific surface for the housing environment), any hardness or certificate requirement such as a mill test report per EN 10204 3.1, and quantity per size. At the large end of the series the parts are heavy — the table tabulates per-100-unit weights up to 436 kg at M200 — so packaging and lift planning are worth stating early.
What is the MOQ and lead time for this nut type?
The minimum order quantity is 10,000 pieces. Stock items ship in 3–7 days; non-stock items are confirmed at quotation. Confirm the exact schedule against quantity and size mix at quotation.
