ISO 7035 Hexagon Slotted Castle Nuts
ISO 7035 hexagon slotted castle nuts M4 to M100x6, coarse with fine-pitch alternates — the slotted crown that locks against a split pin, with the collected da/de/dw/e/m/n/s/w rows and DIN 94 split-pin pairings.
Last updated: 2026-11
Specifications
The castle nut is the mechanical lock that never wears out: slots cut across the crown mate with a cross-drilled split pin, so the nut cannot back off regardless of vibration — and unlike a prevailing-torque nut it can be backed off and re-cottered indefinitely, which is why linkage pins, kingpins, rotating-machine shafts and anything with a through-hole bolt still spec them. The collected ladder is the widest on this page: M4 to (M18) then M20 to (M45) then the large fine-pitch band M48 to M100x6, with the source's stacked coarse/fine-pitch header rows carried verbatim (blank columns where a pitch variant shares the geometry). Key rows: height m nominal=max. (5 → 100 across the ladder), wrench height m' min., slot width n min./max., width across flats s nominal=max. (7 → 145), castle-collar depth w, and the source's own split-pin pairing row ("Split pin as in DIN 94": 1x10 at M4 → 13x160 at M100x6). Verbatim quirks are flagged: the M20 split-pin cell prints 4,36 where the ladder pattern reads 4x36, the (M22) header row carries a stray bracket, and the large band's P row prints "-" throughout — pitch for M72x6 and up is per RFQ. Property class, material and finish are not tabulated — per RFQ.

Materials
- Property class and finish specified per RFQ — castle nuts are commonly class 5/8/10 steel with the class matched to the bolt; state the bolt class and the split-pin size you cotter with (the DIN 94 row is the source's own pairing) at quotation, and confirm pitch on the large fine-pitch band where the capture prints no P values
Ordering & documentation
Documents
Shipments are backed by Mill Test Certificate (MTC), Dimensional Report, Salt Spray Test Report on request, with full batch traceability from raw material to finished product. Quality management follows the owner-confirmed compliance list: ISO 9001:2015, RoHS, REACH. Exact document sets are confirmed on the order.
Quotation
- The fastener family (ISO 7035 Hexagon Slotted Castle Nuts) plus the standard designation from your drawing — DIN / ISO / JIS / ASTM / ANSI, or a drawing for custom parts.
- Size (diameter and length), thread type (metric or inch), property class or grade, and coating or finish.
- Quantity per size and your target delivery date.
- Destination country, and any required documents (for example a mill test certificate) so the quote includes them.
Sample & supply
Minimum order quantity is 10,000 pieces. Stock items run 3–7 days. Quantities or variants outside the standard range are confirmed at quotation.
Storage & shipping
Parts are packed for export and shipped factory-direct to buyers in Europe, Asia, the Americas and the Middle East. Store fasteners dry and protected until installation, and keep coated parts in their packaging until use; specific packing and preservation requirements can be stated on the order and confirmed at quotation.
Frequently asked questions
Castle nut or all-metal prevailing-torque nut — which lock does my joint want?
A through-hole. The castle nut's lock needs a cross-drilled bolt and a split pin: it cannot back off (the pin physically blocks rotation), it survives full back-off and re-tightening indefinitely (re-align the slots, re-cotter — the DIN 94 pairing row gives the pin size per nut), and it adds no running friction at assembly. The all-metal prevailing-torque nut (this catalog carries ISO 7042) needs no hole and no pin, but it grips by elastic thread pinch, its torque varies on reassembly, and hot cycles age the clamp. So: linkage pins, steering and suspension kingpins, rotating shafts — anywhere you can drill the bolt and want a lock you can service — run the castle. The collected ISO 7035 ladder spans M4 to M100x6, including the fine-pitch alternates per size. Reading cautions carried from the capture: the M20 split-pin cell prints 4,36 (pattern reads 4x36 — flagged), the (M22) header carries a stray bracket, and the large band's pitch row prints "-" for M72x6 – M100x6 — confirm those per RFQ. Class, material and finish per RFQ as always.
