Specifications

ISO 4035 is the thin chamfered hex nut: the same across-flats series as ISO 4032 in a height of roughly half the thread diameter. The reduced height buys clearance — on stud ends where full-height nuts would bottom out, on adjustments where a jam nut is backed against a working nut, and on long threaded rods where multiple nuts stack. The cost is engagement: the m w effective bearing height row in the table shows how little thread the thin form develops, which is why thin nuts are not the clamping nut in a strength-critical joint — they either lock against a full-height partner or work on short, low-load engagements. The collected table runs M1.6 to M64, the widest ladder of this batch. For the unchamfered jam-nut form and its inch-side pairing see the DIN 439 jam nut page; the DIN 985 nyloc page covers the insert-lock thin-height form. Property class and finish follow the drawing callout and are not part of the collected table.

Standard ISO 4035 — hexagon thin nuts (chamfered)
Series M1.6 – M64 (29 sizes tabulated)
Tabulated geometry Per size: pitch P, countersink d a, bearing face d w, across-corners e, nut height m (max/min), effective bearing height m w, across-flats s (max/min)
Nut form Thin height (≈ 0.5 × thread diameter), chamfered bearing faces
Family note Thin-height counterpart of ISO 4032; jam-nut role shares the DIN 439 page; across-flats series common with the standard-height nuts
Materials / strength Not tabulated by the collected specification — per RFQ (property class and finish per drawing callout)
ISO 4035 hex thin nuts (chamfered) - per-size dimensions (M1.6 - M64)All dimensions in millimeters. Attribute labels follow the source: P = thread pitch; d a = countersink diameter on the bearing face; d w = bearing face diameter; e = width across corners; m = nut height; m w = effective bearing height of the nut; s = width across flats. Materials, property classes and finishes are not tabulated by the collected specification.

Materials

  • Material, property class and finish specified per RFQ — the collected specification table covers geometry only

Ordering & documentation

Documents

Shipments are backed by Mill Test Certificate (MTC), Dimensional Report, Salt Spray Test Report on request, with full batch traceability from raw material to finished product. Quality management follows the owner-confirmed compliance list: ISO 9001:2015, RoHS, REACH. Exact document sets are confirmed on the order.

Quotation

  • The fastener family (ISO 4035 Hex Thin Nuts (Chamfered)) plus the standard designation from your drawing — DIN / ISO / JIS / ASTM / ANSI, or a drawing for custom parts.
  • Size (diameter and length), thread type (metric or inch), property class or grade, and coating or finish.
  • Quantity per size and your target delivery date.
  • Destination country, and any required documents (for example a mill test certificate) so the quote includes them.

Sample & supply

Minimum order quantity is 10,000 pieces. Stock items run 3–7 days. Quantities or variants outside the standard range are confirmed at quotation.

Storage & shipping

Parts are packed for export and shipped factory-direct to buyers in Europe, Asia, the Americas and the Middle East. Store fasteners dry and protected until installation, and keep coated parts in their packaging until use; specific packing and preservation requirements can be stated on the order and confirmed at quotation.

Frequently asked questions

When is a thin nut the right choice, and when must it not be the only nut?

Right choice: thread run-up on studs, jam-nut locking against a full-height nut, clearance-constrained assemblies, and position adjustment on threaded rods. Wrong choice: any joint where the thin nut alone carries the clamping load — its effective bearing height (m w in the table) develops only a fraction of the bolt's tensile strength before its threads strip. If the application needs locking without a partner nut, use a prevailing-torque form such as DIN 985 or DIN 980 instead of thinning down a plain nut.

What is the MOQ and lead time for this nut type?

The minimum order quantity is 10,000 pieces. Stock items ship in 3–7 days; non-stock items are confirmed at quotation. Common diameters in this nut type are widely stocked; confirm the exact schedule against quantity and size mix at quotation.
