DIN 928 Square Weld Nuts
DIN 928 square weld nuts, M4 to M16 — the square-bodied counterpart to DIN 929 with pilot ring and weld projections that fuse into thin sheet — with the full collected 10-column table: pitch, weld-projection geometry, pilot and bore diameters, nut height, width across flats, reference mass and the source's proof-load rows.
Last updated: 2026-11
Specifications
DIN 928 is the square weld nut: the same projection-welding principle as DIN 929, with the nut body rolled square instead of hex. The square form gives two practical differences. First, the wider flats resist rotation in the sheet during the weld itself, so alignment fixtures are simpler on fast-moving lines. Second, where the finished face is visible or the mating part is a stamped bracket with a square slot, the square body keys into the cutout and cannot spin under a torque wrench afterwards. The collected table covers M4 to M16 with thread pitch (coarse plus the source's fine-thread columns), weld-projection height b, weld boss d 1, pilot d 2, bore d 3, width across corners e, projection heights h 1 / h 2, nut height m, width across flats s, the source's reference mass per 1000 units, and its Ensure-the-load proof-load rows in newtons. The source also prints two 7/16 ① inch columns inside the metric series — reproduced verbatim with the source's marker. Materials and finishes are not printed by the collected specification and stay per RFQ. For the hex-bodied form on the same welding principle see DIN 929 on this site.

Ordering & documentation
Documents
Shipments are backed by Mill Test Certificate (MTC), Dimensional Report, Salt Spray Test Report on request, with full batch traceability from raw material to finished product. Quality management follows the owner-confirmed compliance list: ISO 9001:2015, RoHS, REACH. Exact document sets are confirmed on the order.
Quotation
- The fastener family (DIN 928 Square Weld Nuts) plus the standard designation from your drawing — DIN / ISO / JIS / ASTM / ANSI, or a drawing for custom parts.
- Size (diameter and length), thread type (metric or inch), property class or grade, and coating or finish.
- Quantity per size and your target delivery date.
- Destination country, and any required documents (for example a mill test certificate) so the quote includes them.
Sample & supply
Minimum order quantity is 10,000 pieces. Stock items run 3–7 days. Quantities or variants outside the standard range are confirmed at quotation.
Storage & shipping
Parts are packed for export and shipped factory-direct to buyers in Europe, Asia, the Americas and the Middle East. Store fasteners dry and protected until installation, and keep coated parts in their packaging until use; specific packing and preservation requirements can be stated on the order and confirmed at quotation.
Frequently asked questions
DIN 928 or DIN 929 — when does the square body matter?
Both weld by the same projections and carry comparable threads in the overlapping M4–M16 range, so the choice is usually downstream of the weld. The square body cannot rotate in an oversized or slotted cutout, which matters when a fastener will be torqued against the nut after welding or when the sheet layout already uses square punchings. The hex form suits standard hex-driven tooling and tighter across-flats envelopes. Check the two tables side by side: at the same thread, the pilot and projection geometry differ, so electrode holders are not always shared. On visible or galvanized panel work, confirm the weld spatter allowance on the actual stack either way.
What is the MOQ and lead time for this nut type?
The minimum order quantity is 10,000 pieces. Stock items ship in 3–7 days; non-stock items are confirmed at quotation. Common diameters in this nut type are widely stocked; confirm the exact schedule against quantity and size mix at quotation.
