DIN 562 Square Thin Nuts
DIN 562 square thin nuts, M1.6 to M10 — the low-profile four-flat nut for narrow jam nuts and insert work in small assemblies — with the collected per-size tables: pitch, across corners e, thickness m and across flats s.

Specifications
DIN 562 is the square-section thin nut at the small end of the range, M1.6 to M10 in the collected tables: a quarter of the nut is a flat for a thin open-end spanner, and the reduced thickness m — 1 mm at M1.6 up to 5 mm at M10 — is what locknut and insert work wants. Two square thin nuts jammed on a stud lock each other; one run against a standard nut does the same; and in instrument and electrical assemblies the square section also stops rotation in a square hole or a punched recess without any separate anti-rotation feature. The collected tables print, per size: pitch P, across corners e (min), thickness m (max=nominal/min), across flats s (max=nominal/min) and the source's mass-per-1000 figure. The parenthesized (M3.5) is the non-preferred size as printed. Property classes, heat treatment and finishes are not tabulated by the collected specification and stay per RFQ.

Ordering & documentation
Documents
Shipments are backed by Mill Test Certificate (MTC), Dimensional Report, Salt Spray Test Report on request, with full batch traceability from raw material to finished product. Quality management follows the owner-confirmed compliance list: ISO 9001:2015, RoHS, REACH. Exact document sets are confirmed on the order.
Quotation
- The fastener family (DIN 562 Square Thin Nuts) plus the standard designation from your drawing — DIN / ISO / JIS / ASTM / ANSI, or a drawing for custom parts.
- Size (diameter and length), thread type (metric or inch), property class or grade, and coating or finish.
- Quantity per size and your target delivery date.
- Destination country, and any required documents (for example a mill test certificate) so the quote includes them.
Sample & supply
Minimum order quantity is 10,000 pieces. Stock items run 3–7 days. Quantities or variants outside the standard range are confirmed at quotation.
Storage & shipping
Parts are packed for export and shipped factory-direct to buyers in Europe, Asia, the Americas and the Middle East. Store fasteners dry and protected until installation, and keep coated parts in their packaging until use; specific packing and preservation requirements can be stated on the order and confirmed at quotation.
Frequently asked questions
When is a square thin nut the right locknut?
When two constraints meet: almost no height budget, and a need for the nut not to spin. As a jam nut, DIN 562 does what any thin nut does — tightened hard against a full nut (or paired with a second thin nut), the counter-loaded flanks lock the pair on a stud where a vibration-rated single nut would need more height than the design has. The square section then adds what a hex thin nut cannot: drop it into a square punched hole or a machined recess and the flats in the socket take the torque, so one wrench turn during assembly is all the nut ever needs — no spinning in the housing, no separate tab washer at the small sizes where tab washers get clumsy. Read the collected table's m column as your height cost (1.8 mm at M3, 4 mm at M8) and s as your wrench size, and note that thin nuts carry less thread engagement than a full nut: they lock joints, they do not carry the joint.
What is the MOQ and lead time for this nut type?
The minimum order quantity is 10,000 pieces. Stock items ship in 3–7 days; non-stock items are confirmed at quotation. Common sizes in this nut type are widely stocked; confirm the exact schedule against quantity and size mix at quotation.
