KM01 Removable Security Nuts
Tamper-resistant rounded security nuts with a patented indentation pattern, installed and removed with a restricted-supply matching driver — high torque, reusable, for panels and furniture that maintenance crews must reopen but the public must not. M5–M12.

Specifications
The KM01 is a removable security nut: a rounded nut whose faced pattern of indentations cannot be gripped by standard spanners or pliers, driven only by a matching socket that is sold restricted — the tool is not supplied into the public domain, and in the collected source it is not sold separately to customers who have not purchased the fixings. That pairing gives you a fixing a maintenance crew can reopen with the guarded driver while casual tampering gets nothing to turn. The collected stock table runs M5 to M12, each size offered in zinc-plated case-hardened steel (the hardened case resists hacksawing or chiselling the nut off and carries more torque), Geomet-coated steel, and A2 stainless steel. Typical settings are security fencing, street furniture, public transport interiors and playground equipment — anywhere the nut must survive public access but the panel still needs legitimate servicing. Where the joint will never be reopened, the permanent one-way KM02 is the complementary choice.

Ordering & documentation
Documents
Shipments are backed by Mill Test Certificate (MTC), Dimensional Report, Salt Spray Test Report on request, with full batch traceability from raw material to finished product. Quality management follows the owner-confirmed compliance list: ISO 9001:2015, RoHS, REACH. Exact document sets are confirmed on the order.
Quotation
- The fastener family (KM01 Removable Security Nuts) plus the standard designation from your drawing — DIN / ISO / JIS / ASTM / ANSI, or a drawing for custom parts.
- Size (diameter and length), thread type (metric or inch), property class or grade, and coating or finish.
- Quantity per size and your target delivery date.
- Destination country, and any required documents (for example a mill test certificate) so the quote includes them.
Sample & supply
Minimum order quantity is 10,000 pieces. Stock items run 3–7 days. Quantities or variants outside the standard range are confirmed at quotation.
Storage & shipping
Parts are packed for export and shipped factory-direct to buyers in Europe, Asia, the Americas and the Middle East. Store fasteners dry and protected until installation, and keep coated parts in their packaging until use; specific packing and preservation requirements can be stated on the order and confirmed at quotation.
Frequently asked questions
Removable or permanent security nut — which do I need?
Choose by whether the panel will ever be legitimately reopened. The KM01 is fully removable with its restricted driver, so it is the choice for equipment that maintenance crews service. The KM02 permanent one-way nut installs with the same kind of restricted driver but is not meant to come off — once tightened it stays, which suits permanently installed panels. Both share the rounded indentation-pattern head and the same M5–M12 stock range in the collected table.
How does the security actually work — is the nut itself special steel?
Two layers. First, geometry: the rounded head carries only the indentation drive pattern, so a standard spanner, socket or grips has nothing to engage. Second, material: in the case-hardened steel version the hardened case resists hacksawing and chiselling attempts and sustains higher installation torque; the A2 stainless and Geomet versions serve corrosive or appearance-critical settings. The driver is supplied on a restricted basis, which is what keeps the drive pattern out of the public domain.
What is the MOQ and lead time for this nut type?
The minimum order quantity is 10,000 pieces. Stock items ship in 3–7 days; non-stock items are confirmed at quotation. Common diameters in this nut type are widely stocked; confirm the exact schedule against quantity and size mix at quotation.
What should an RFQ for this nut type state?
State the standard designation (for example DIN 985 or DIN 6923), nominal thread size and pitch (metric coarse unless fine pitch is required), material and strength pairing with the mating bolt, finish (plain, zinc, or hot-dip galvanized where compatible), required certificates such as a mill test report per EN 10204 3.1, and quantity per size — plus destination country.
