Specifications

Flanged joints in iron waterworks systems — the bolted face-to-face connection covered by ANSI/AWWA C115/A21.15 for ductile-iron flanges and C110/A21.10 for gray-iron fittings and valves — use heavy hex bolts in a count and length set by the pipe size, and the collected chart tabulates exactly that: for every nominal pipe size from 3 to 64 in, the number of bolts per joint, their diameter and their length. The ladder is coarse and deliberate: a 3 in joint takes four 5/8 in bolts 2 1/2 in long; by 12 in it is twelve 7/8 in bolts at 4 in; the 1 in diameters appear at 14–16 in; and the largest rows reach fifty-two 1 3/4 in bolts, 9 in long, on 60–64 in pipe. Length tracks the flange hub thickness and the gasket pack of standard-class flanges, which is why it grows roughly with diameter — order by the row unless your assembly stacks non-standard collars or spacers, in which case confirm length at RFQ. The chart prints no torque values for flanged joints (unlike the mechanical-joint T-head companion chart) and no material or coating columns — all per RFQ, with gasket and ring type following the flange class on the drawing.

Standard alignment ANSI/AWWA C115/A21.15-99 and C110/A21.10-03 (source statement kept) — flanged joint heavy hex bolts for iron waterworks flanges, fittings and valves
Pipe size range Nominal 3 – 64 in, eighteen pipe-size rows (3 through 64, including the 54 and 64 in sizes absent from the mechanical-joint chart)
Tabulated values Per pipe size: bolt quantity per joint (4 – 52), bolt size (5/8 – 1 3/4 in), bolt length (2 1/2 – 9 in)
Units Size and length in inches
Material / coating / torque Not tabulated by the collected chart — per RFQ (state coating system, flange class and any project torque specification at quotation)
Flanged joint heavy hex bolts — per-pipe-size bolt size, length and quantity (3 – 64 in pipe)Bolt size and length are in inches. The source states the chart aligns with ANSI/AWWA C115/A21.15-99 and C110/A21.10-03. Quantity is the number of heavy hex bolts per flanged joint of that pipe size. Torque values, bolt material and coating are not tabulated by the collected chart.

Materials

  • Bolt material and coating specified per RFQ — flanged-joint hardware in buried or exposed waterworks service is usually ordered coated; state the environment and flange class at quotation

Ordering & documentation

Documents

Shipments are backed by Mill Test Certificate (MTC), Dimensional Report, Salt Spray Test Report on request, with full batch traceability from raw material to finished product. Quality management follows the owner-confirmed compliance list: ISO 9001:2015, RoHS, REACH. Exact document sets are confirmed on the order.

Quotation

  • The fastener family (Flanged Joint Heavy Hex Bolts (ANSI/AWWA C115/C110) — Per-Pipe-Size Chart) plus the standard designation from your drawing — DIN / ISO / JIS / ASTM / ANSI, or a drawing for custom parts.
  • Size (diameter and length), thread type (metric or inch), property class or grade, and coating or finish.
  • Quantity per size and your target delivery date.
  • Destination country, and any required documents (for example a mill test certificate) so the quote includes them.

Sample & supply

Minimum order quantity is 1,000–10,000 pieces depending on size. Stock items run 3–7 days. High-strength and custom parts run 15–25 days. Quantities or variants outside the standard range are confirmed at quotation.

Storage & shipping

Parts are packed for export and shipped factory-direct to buyers in Europe, Asia, the Americas and the Middle East. Store fasteners dry and protected until installation, and keep coated parts in their packaging until use; specific packing and preservation requirements can be stated on the order and confirmed at quotation.

Frequently asked questions

Why does the flanged-joint chart have no torque column when the mechanical-joint chart does?

Because the two joints seal differently, and the collected charts reflect that. A mechanical joint compresses a molded gasket pack inside a gland, and the AWWA-aligned chart prints a torque range per pipe size as part of the assembly instruction — the gland needs a defined, repeatable compression to seal. A flanged joint seals through the compression of a flat ring gasket between two flange faces, where the assembly target is normally stated as a bolt stress, a torque value in the project specification, or a tightening pattern, and it depends on the flange class, gasket material and service — not on pipe size alone. There is no single pipe-size-keyed torque ladder the chart could honestly print. Practically: take bolt count, diameter and length from the row for your pipe size; take the torque from the governing specification or the flange/gasket manufacturer; and if the project is silent, that question goes into the RFQ alongside material and coating — the dimension chart answers geometry, not assembly engineering.

What is the MOQ and lead time for this bolt type?

The minimum order quantity is 1,000–10,000 pieces depending on size. Stock items ship in 3–7 days; high-strength and custom parts in 15–25 days. Common sizes in this bolt type are widely stocked; confirm the exact schedule against quantity and size mix at quotation.
