DIN 1478 Turnbuckle Bodies (Closed Body)
DIN 1478 turnbuckle bodies, threads M6–M80x6 — the closed steel-tube take-up body with a right- and left-hand thread at each end, sized by the collected ladder: body length L, tube outside diameter d2, end width m and the cross-hole d1 for the end-fitting pin.

Specifications
A DIN 1478 turnbuckle is the closed-body take-up: a steel tube with a right-hand internal thread at one end and a left-hand at the other, so turning the body winds both threaded ends in or out together and adjusts the tension of a rod, cable or tie assembly without rotating the ends. The collected ladder runs 17 thread sizes, M6 to M80x6 (the two largest are fine-pitch, as printed), and carries per size the body length L (110 mm at M6 up to 440 mm at M80x6), the tube outside diameter d2 (17,2 mm — the 17,2/21,3/25 mm ladder of standard steel tube — growing to 120 mm), the end width m across the flats that a wrench holds, and the cross-hole d1 (min./max.) through the body ends for the pin that fixes the end fitting. Reading order at assembly: thread a right-hand end stud into the right-hand bore and a left-hand stud into the left-hand one (mixing handedness strips the first thread), take the cross-hole d1 against the end-fitting pin — it is a range (min./max.) per the ladder, and note one flagged quirk at M52 where the printed min. exceeds the max — and turn the body to take up slack. Working load ratings are not tabulated by the collected specification — per RFQ, and they matter: a turnbuckle body is a tension member, so state the working load at quotation. The matching DIN 1479 hex turnbuckle nuts lock the stud ends; they are on this catalog's nuts family.

- Row 13 (M52): The source prints d1 max. = 20,5 at M52 while d1 min. = 24,5 (min above max); reproduced verbatim from the printed row. Verify against the standard before quoting the cross-hole at M52.
- Row 8 (M27): The source prints m = 40 at M27 against the surrounding ladder 29 / 36 / 43 (M24/M30/M36); reproduced verbatim as printed. Verify against the standard before quoting m at M27.
Materials

Ordering & documentation
Documents
Shipments are backed by Mill Test Certificate (MTC), Dimensional Report, Salt Spray Test Report on request, with full batch traceability from raw material to finished product. Quality management follows the owner-confirmed compliance list: ISO 9001:2015, RoHS, REACH. Exact document sets are confirmed on the order.
Quotation
- The fastener family (DIN 1478 Turnbuckle Bodies (Closed Body)) plus the standard designation from your drawing — DIN / ISO / JIS / ASTM / ANSI, or a drawing for custom parts.
- Size (diameter and length), thread type (metric or inch), property class or grade, and coating or finish.
- Quantity per size and your target delivery date.
- Destination country, and any required documents (for example a mill test certificate) so the quote includes them.
Sample & supply
Minimum order quantity is 1,000–10,000 pieces depending on size. Stock items run 3–7 days. High-strength and custom parts run 15–25 days. Quantities or variants outside the standard range are confirmed at quotation.
Storage & shipping
Parts are packed for export and shipped factory-direct to buyers in Europe, Asia, the Americas and the Middle East. Store fasteners dry and protected until installation, and keep coated parts in their packaging until use; specific packing and preservation requirements can be stated on the order and confirmed at quotation.
Frequently asked questions
How do I choose a DIN 1478 body size and assemble it without stripping the ends?
Start from the tension load, not the thread — the collected table carries geometry only, and the body is a tension member, so the working load is an RFQ line. Once the thread size is fixed by the mating studs, the collected ladder gives you the body: L (110 mm at M6 up to 440 mm at M80x6) is the take-up envelope, d2 (the 17,2 → 120 mm steel-tube ladder) is the body you are fitting clearance around, and the cross-hole d1 (a min./max. range, 5,7/6,3 mm at M6 up to 29,5/30,5 mm at the fine-pitch large ends) takes the end-fitting pin. Assembly discipline: right-hand stud into the right-hand end only — the body has opposite hands at its two ends, and forcing a stud into the wrong bore strips the lead thread before it ever takes tension; hold the body by its end width m with a wrench and turn to adjust. Three cells in the collected capture are flagged verbatim (m = 40 at M27 against a 29/36/43 surrounding ladder, and a d1 min. above max at M52) — check those against the standard before quoting. Lock the adjusted stud ends with DIN 1479 hex turnbuckle nuts (this catalog's nuts family), and state material, finish and working load at RFQ — none of that is in the collected table.
