DIN 186 T-Head Bolts

DIN 186 T-head bolts, M6 to M48 — the head shaped to slot into T-slots and channels so the bolt can clamp without nut access — with the full collected 11-size table: pitch, shaft and head geometry, radii and the source's three thread-length bands.

Specifications

A DIN 186 T-head bolt drops into a T-slot or continuous channel and locks with a quarter turn: the rectangular head cannot rotate, so the bolt is tightened from the nut side alone — or from the head side when the channel carries the thread. That makes it the fastener of machine tables, extruded aluminum framing, solar-mounting channels and any assembly where only one face is reachable. The collected table covers M6 to M48 — 11 sizes — with thread pitch P, shaft diameter d s (Nominal Size / max / min), head height k, head width n, head-to-bearing length m (Nominal Size / min / max), the r 1 ≈ and r 2 radii, and the source's three thread-length bands b 1 / b 2 / b 3 reproduced verbatim. Materials and property classes are not printed by the collected specification and stay per RFQ. For slot nuts that pair with these bolts see DIN 508 T-slot nuts on this site.

Standard DIN 186 — T-head bolts (for T-slots and construction channels)
Series M6 – M48 (11 sizes tabulated)
Tabulated geometry Per size: pitch P, shaft diameter d s (Nominal Size / max / min), head height k, head width n, head-to-bearing length m (Nominal Size / min / max), radii r 1 ≈ / r 2, thread-length bands b 1 / b 2 / b 3
Function T-head seats in the slot and cannot rotate — single-side clamping in channels and tables
Family note Pairs with DIN 508 T-slot nuts; channel nuts for strut framing share the working principle
Materials / strength Not tabulated by the collected specification — per RFQ (property class per drawing callout)
DIN 186 T-head bolts - per-size dimensions (M6 - M48)All dimensions in millimeters. Attribute labels follow the source: P = thread pitch; d s = shaft diameter (Nominal Size / max / min); k = head height (Nominal Size / max / min); n = head width (Nominal Size / max / min); m = head-to-shoulder length (Nominal Size / min / max); r 1 is a ≈ reference radius; r 2 = radius max; Length of Thread b = the source's three thread-length bands b 1 / b 2 / b 3, reproduced verbatim. Materials and property classes are not tabulated by the collected specification.

Materials

  • Material and property class specified per RFQ — the collected specification table covers geometry only

Ordering & documentation

Documents

Shipments are backed by Mill Test Certificate (MTC), Dimensional Report, Salt Spray Test Report on request, with full batch traceability from raw material to finished product. Quality management follows the owner-confirmed compliance list: ISO 9001:2015, RoHS, REACH. Exact document sets are confirmed on the order.

Quotation

  • The fastener family (DIN 186 T-Head Bolts) plus the standard designation from your drawing — DIN / ISO / JIS / ASTM / ANSI, or a drawing for custom parts.
  • Size (diameter and length), thread type (metric or inch), property class or grade, and coating or finish.
  • Quantity per size and your target delivery date.
  • Destination country, and any required documents (for example a mill test certificate) so the quote includes them.

Sample & supply

Minimum order quantity is 1,000–10,000 pieces depending on size. Stock items run 3–7 days. High-strength and custom parts run 15–25 days. Quantities or variants outside the standard range are confirmed at quotation.

Storage & shipping

Parts are packed for export and shipped factory-direct to buyers in Europe, Asia, the Americas and the Middle East. Store fasteners dry and protected until installation, and keep coated parts in their packaging until use; specific packing and preservation requirements can be stated on the order and confirmed at quotation.

Frequently asked questions

How is a T-head bolt sized against its channel or slot?

By the head, not the thread. The head width n and height k must match the slot's opening and internal height so the head can be inserted, turned 90 degrees, and bear on the slot walls without rocking — the tabulated max/min pairs on n and k exist because that fit is a running clearance, not a press. The thread is then chosen for the clamp load and the mating nut or channel thread, with the b 1 / b 2 / b 3 bands giving the engagement lengths the source standardizes. Measure the slot first, pick the head, then the thread; buying by thread alone risks a head that will not seat square.

What is the MOQ and lead time for this bolt type?

The minimum order quantity is 1,000–10,000 pieces depending on size. Stock items ship in 3–7 days; high-strength and custom parts in 15–25 days. Common diameters in this bolt type are widely stocked; confirm the exact schedule against quantity and size mix at quotation.
