DIN 835 Double-End Studs (Screwed-In End ≈ 2 d)
Double-end metric studs to DIN 835 — the screwed-in end at approximately 2 × thread diameter, nut-end thread length tabulated by grip L, with the collected ladder M4 to M24 and the source's own end/engagement legend.
Last updated: 2026-11
Specifications
DIN 835 is the long-engagement end of the double-end stud trio: screwed-in end ≈ 2 d — the b 1 row doubles the DIN 938 figures at every size (24 mm at M12 against 12 mm, 48 mm at M24 against 24 mm) — for tapped holes in softer or shallower material where thread shear on the housing side governs: aluminium housings, cast iron, plastics-adjacent assemblies, or repaired threads where you want full engagement of a helical insert. The collected ladder runs M4 to M24 and carries the source's own legend for the rows (b 1 = screwed-in end, b 2 = nut end, with the L≤125 / L≤200 / L>200 grip bands), plus min/max shank diameter rows. For drawings that stop the stud family at M24, this is the tabulated ceiling of the source; larger screwed-in studs quote per drawing. Material, property class and finish are not printed by the collected specification — per RFQ.

- Row 7 (b — L>200): The source prints "/" for the L>200 nut-end engagement on M4-(M7) — carried verbatim.
- Row 3 (P — Fine thread): The source carries two identically labelled "Fine thread" P rows (the second fine-pitch series) without distinguishing labels — carried verbatim; disambiguate against DIN 835 itself.

Materials
- Material and property class specified per RFQ — long-engagement studs are usually specified to match the housing material and the mating nut class; state both at quotation
Ordering & documentation
Documents
Shipments are backed by Mill Test Certificate (MTC), Dimensional Report, Salt Spray Test Report on request, with full batch traceability from raw material to finished product. Quality management follows the owner-confirmed compliance list: ISO 9001:2015, RoHS, REACH. Exact document sets are confirmed on the order.
Quotation
- The fastener family (DIN 835 Double-End Studs (Screwed-In End ≈ 2 d)) plus the standard designation from your drawing — DIN / ISO / JIS / ASTM / ANSI, or a drawing for custom parts.
- Size (diameter and length), thread type (metric or inch), property class or grade, and coating or finish.
- Quantity per size and your target delivery date.
- Destination country, and any required documents (for example a mill test certificate) so the quote includes them.
Sample & supply
Minimum order quantity is 1,000–10,000 pieces depending on size. Stock items run 3–7 days. High-strength and custom parts run 15–25 days. Quantities or variants outside the standard range are confirmed at quotation.
Storage & shipping
Parts are packed for export and shipped factory-direct to buyers in Europe, Asia, the Americas and the Middle East. Store fasteners dry and protected until installation, and keep coated parts in their packaging until use; specific packing and preservation requirements can be stated on the order and confirmed at quotation.
Frequently asked questions
When is the 2 d screwed-in end of DIN 835 worth the extra stud length?
When the tapped hole, not the stud, is the weak member. Doubling the engagement doubles the number of load-bearing turns, which is the standard answer for aluminium and cast-iron housings, thin-walled castings, and holes repaired with thread inserts where the insert recommendations call a minimum engagement. The cost is drilling deeper and a longer stud standing off the assembly — so on steel with sound threads, the DIN 938/939 shorter ends are the leaner choice. The collected ladder tabulates both alternatives, so the three pages in this catalog can be compared size-for-size before the RFQ.
