DIN 938 Double-End Studs (Metal End ≈ 1 d)
Double-end metric studs to DIN 938 — the metal (screwed-in) end at approximately 1 × thread diameter, nut-end thread length tabulated by grip L through (M52), with the collected pitch/shank-diameter/thread-run-out ladder M3 to (M52).

Specifications
DIN 938 is the shortest-engagement member of the classic double-end stud trio: the screwed-in end is sized at roughly one thread diameter — the tabulated b 1 row runs 3 mm at M3 up to 52 mm at (M52) — so it suits tapped holes in reasonably thick, sound material where a longer bite would bottom out or overload the thread. The nut end carries the standard engagement ladders by grip length (L≤125 / 125<L≤200 / L>200 rows), which is what the assembler reads when choosing the tapped-hole depth versus the nut thread run. The collected ladder spans M3 to (M52), with fine-thread pitch rows printed where the standard tabulates them and "-" where a size has no fine-thread or long-grip variant in the source. Pair the stud with a class-matched nut off this catalog's metric hex nut line and thread it into the tapping-size hole your drawing calls. Material, property class and finish are not printed by the collected specification — per RFQ (name the class and coating at quotation).

Materials
- Material and property class specified per RFQ — studs are typically produced in carbon steel classes and stainless to match the mating nut; state the class (e.g. 8.8 / A2-70) and coating at quotation
Ordering & documentation
Documents
Shipments are backed by Mill Test Certificate (MTC), Dimensional Report, Salt Spray Test Report on request, with full batch traceability from raw material to finished product. Quality management follows the owner-confirmed compliance list: ISO 9001:2015, RoHS, REACH. Exact document sets are confirmed on the order.
Quotation
- The fastener family (DIN 938 Double-End Studs (Metal End ≈ 1 d)) plus the standard designation from your drawing — DIN / ISO / JIS / ASTM / ANSI, or a drawing for custom parts.
- Size (diameter and length), thread type (metric or inch), property class or grade, and coating or finish.
- Quantity per size and your target delivery date.
- Destination country, and any required documents (for example a mill test certificate) so the quote includes them.
Sample & supply
Minimum order quantity is 1,000–10,000 pieces depending on size. Stock items run 3–7 days. High-strength and custom parts run 15–25 days. Quantities or variants outside the standard range are confirmed at quotation.
Storage & shipping
Parts are packed for export and shipped factory-direct to buyers in Europe, Asia, the Americas and the Middle East. Store fasteners dry and protected until installation, and keep coated parts in their packaging until use; specific packing and preservation requirements can be stated on the order and confirmed at quotation.
Frequently asked questions
DIN 938, DIN 939 or DIN 835 — which screwed-in length do I need?
By the tapped hole, not the nut. The three designations differ in the metal end: ≈ 1 d (DIN 938), ≈ 1.25 d (DIN 939) and ≈ 2 d (DIN 835). A short engagement suits strong, deep threads in steel; the longer ends buy thread shear area in softer housings — aluminium, cast iron, shallow or repaired taps — where more engaged turns carry the clamp. Compare the b 1 rows across the three ladders in this catalog (at M12: 12 / 15 / 24 mm) and match your drawing's tapped-hole depth. All three share the same nut-end engagement ladders by grip, so the nut side of the RFQ reads identically.
