DIN 6912 Hexagon Socket Head Cap Screws, Low Head with Collar
DIN 6912 low-head hexagon socket cap screws with centre collar, M4 to M36 — the low head that still seats like a hex bolt, with a raised collar for through-hole location — with the full collected 18-size table: thread pitch, thread length per length class, collar diameter, head and shank tolerances, socket and collar-hole depths.
Last updated: 2026-11
Specifications
DIN 6912 is the low-head socket screw with a mechanical bonus: a cylindrical collar (described as "with centre" in the original designation) that projects below the head around the shank. The collar locates the screw in a through-hole, absorbs the shear at the joint interface, and keeps the reduced-height head off the clamped surface — so the screw behaves like a fitted bolt whose head still clears a shallow counterbore. That combination fixes its typical roles: hinge and pivot pins that must not shear through the screw shank, sliding location in fixture builds, and any joint where the head height of a DIN 912 does not fit but the load path still runs through a located, sheared interface. The collected table is the largest of this batch — the full M4 to M36 ladder across five size blocks, eighteen sizes with the non-preferred (M14), (M18), (M22), (M27) and (M33) — and tabulates per size: pitch P; thread length b in three length classes; collar diameter d 1 min (= nominal)/max; head diameter d k max/min; head height k max/min; socket depth t nominal/min/max; collar hole depth t 1 min/max — the counterbore depth the collar needs; socket across-flats s nominal/min/max; shank d s max/min; and across-corners e min. Sizing a DIN 6912 joint means sizing the mating hole: the collar tolerance band runs from nominal upward (d 1 min = nominal, max e.g. 8.09 on M16), and the t 1 column tells the shop how deep the relief hole must go.

- Row 1 (10): Column alignment note (batch-level, anchored here): the 16 weight columns align one-to-one to the source header sizes (M4, M5, M6, M8, M10, M12, M14, M16, M18, M20, M22, M24, M27, M30, M33, M36); verified against the rendered grid (rowspan/colspan expanded) and the monotone per-size weight progressions, not inferred from the flattened markup alone. The first grid row is a lone "Length" section label, carried as the first-column semantics.

Ordering & documentation
Documents
Shipments are backed by Mill Test Certificate (MTC), Dimensional Report, Salt Spray Test Report on request, with full batch traceability from raw material to finished product. Quality management follows the owner-confirmed compliance list: ISO 9001:2015, RoHS, REACH. Exact document sets are confirmed on the order.
Quotation
- The fastener family (DIN 6912 Hexagon Socket Head Cap Screws, Low Head with Collar) plus the standard designation from your drawing — DIN / ISO / JIS / ASTM / ANSI, or a drawing for custom parts.
- Size (diameter and length), thread type (metric or inch), property class or grade, and coating or finish.
- Quantity per size and your target delivery date.
- Destination country, and any required documents (for example a mill test certificate) so the quote includes them.
Sample & supply
Minimum order quantity is 10,000 pieces. Stock items run 3–7 days. Quantities or variants outside the standard range are confirmed at quotation.
Storage & shipping
Parts are packed for export and shipped factory-direct to buyers in Europe, Asia, the Americas and the Middle East. Store fasteners dry and protected until installation, and keep coated parts in their packaging until use; specific packing and preservation requirements can be stated on the order and confirmed at quotation.
Frequently asked questions
When does the DIN 6912 collar matter compared with plain DIN 7984?
Wherever the joint carries shear or needs positive location through the head side. The collar is a turned pilot that enters the clamped part: it positions the screw, takes lateral load off the shank threads, and lets a low head sit over a through-hole without bearing on the part. DIN 7984 is the plain low head without that pilot; if the mating parts are located by other means and the screw only clamps, the plain low head does the job — the collected tables of both pages line up thread-for-thread where the series overlap.
What should an RFQ for DIN 6912 screws state?
The designation, thread size and length (with the applicable b length class — tabulated per L ≤ 125 / 125 < L ≤ 200 / L > 200 mm), property class or stainless grade, finish, certificates such as a mill test report per EN 10204 3.1, and quantity per size. If the collar holes are being machined with the order, size them from the d 1 and t 1 columns on this page. Commercial terms follow the quotation.
What is the MOQ and lead time for these screws?
Minimum order quantity is 10,000 pieces per item. Stocked sizes ship in 3–7 days; non-stock diameters, lengths or finishes are quoted with a confirmed schedule. Common sizes in this designation are widely stocked — confirm the exact schedule against quantity and size mix at quotation.
