DIN 927 Slotted Shoulder Screws
DIN 927 slotted shoulder screws M1 to M6 — the small precision shoulder screw driven by a plain screwdriver — with the full collected 10-size table: thread lengths, head and slot geometry toleranced per size.

Specifications
DIN 927 is the shoulder screw for the small end of instrument design: M1 to M6, driven by a plain slot instead of a hex socket, where the parts pivoting on the shoulder are levers, gears and pointer mechanisms too small for a hex key to service comfortably. The slot costs torque capacity, but at these sizes hand-tight is the design load, and the screwdriver works in the field with no special tooling — the same serviceability logic as the slotted cheese head DIN 84 page in the machine-screw line. The collected table gives all ten sizes with the geometry that matters on a shoulder screw this small: pitch P, thread length b (min = nominal size, max limit per size), head diameter d k (max = nominal), slot width n (nominal/max/min) and slot depth t (max/min). As with the larger shoulder screws, the unthreaded shoulder carries the pivot duty and its length is application-selected — not tabulated by the collected specification, so state it explicitly on the RFQ. For hex-socket shoulder screws from M5 up, see the ISO 7379 page on this site.
| Standard | DIN 927 — slotted head shoulder screws (small metric series) |
|---|---|
| Series | M1, M1.2, M1.4, M1.6, M2, M2.5, M3, M4, M5, M6 (10 sizes tabulated) |
| Tabulated geometry | Per size: pitch P, thread length b (min = nominal size, max limit), head diameter d k max (= nominal)/min, slot width n nominal/max/min, slot depth t max/min |
| Drive | Plain slot — maintained with a flat-blade screwdriver; torque capacity below hex socket, serviceability without special tooling |
| Family note | Small-size slotted shoulder screw; hex-socket counterparts ISO 7379 (metric) and ASME B18.3 (inch) |
| Materials / strength | Not tabulated by the collected specification — per RFQ (property class and stainless grade per drawing callout) |
| Nominal thread | P — pitch (mm) | b min (= nominal size) (mm) | b max (mm) | d k max (= nominal size) (mm) | d k min (mm) | n nominal (mm) | n max (mm) | n min (mm) | t max (mm) | t min (mm) |

Materials
- Material, property class and finish specified per RFQ — the collected specification table covers geometry only
Ordering & documentation
Documents
Shipments are backed by Mill Test Certificate (MTC), Dimensional Report, Salt Spray Test Report on request, with full batch traceability from raw material to finished product. Quality management follows the owner-confirmed compliance list: ISO 9001:2015, RoHS, REACH. Exact document sets are confirmed on the order.
Quotation
- The fastener family (DIN 927 Slotted Shoulder Screws) plus the standard designation from your drawing — DIN / ISO / JIS / ASTM / ANSI, or a drawing for custom parts.
- Size (diameter and length), thread type (metric or inch), property class or grade, and coating or finish.
- Quantity per size and your target delivery date.
- Destination country, and any required documents (for example a mill test certificate) so the quote includes them.
Sample & supply
Minimum order quantity is 10,000 pieces. Stock items run 3–7 days. Quantities or variants outside the standard range are confirmed at quotation.
Storage & shipping
Parts are packed for export and shipped factory-direct to buyers in Europe, Asia, the Americas and the Middle East. Store fasteners dry and protected until installation, and keep coated parts in their packaging until use; specific packing and preservation requirements can be stated on the order and confirmed at quotation.
Frequently asked questions
Why choose a slotted shoulder screw at M1–M6?
Serviceability and size. At these diameters the hex socket key would be 0.7–2.5 mm across the flats — fragile, easily lost and awkward to keep torqued in field service — while a flat-blade screwdriver is universal. The slot geometry in the table is fully toleranced (n nominal/max/min, t max/min) so slotted-drive tooling can be specified to the same limits as the screw. The shoulder still does the precision work: pivots on instrument linkages, small cam followers, metering mechanisms. Power driving is where the slot gives way to recessed drives — production assembly lines choose ISO 7379 above M5.
What should an RFQ for DIN 927 shoulder screws state?
The designation (DIN 927), thread size, required shoulder diameter and shoulder length — the shoulder dimensions beyond the tabulated head geometry are application-selected and not covered by the collected table — plus material, finish, and quantity per size. Slot and head tolerances are in the table; commercial terms follow the quotation.
What is the MOQ and lead time for these screws?
Minimum order quantity is 10,000 pieces per item. Stocked sizes ship in 3–7 days; non-stock diameters, lengths or finishes are quoted with a confirmed schedule. Common sizes in this designation are widely stocked — confirm the exact schedule against quantity and size mix at quotation.
