ISO 7046-1 Countersunk Flat Head Screws (H / Z Cross Recess)
ISO 7046-1 countersunk flat head screws with Phillips-type H or Pozidriv-type Z cross recess, M1.6 to M10 — the power-drivable counterpart of the slotted countersunk head — with the full collected 10-size table: head-cone geometry, socket numbers and penetration-depth bands for both recess types.

Specifications
ISO 7046-1 keeps the flush-seating countersunk flat head — the same 90-degree cone, theoretical and actual head diameters and head height as ISO 2009 — and replaces the slot with a cross recess, in two tooling variants the collected table carries side by side: Type H (Phillips-type recess) and Type Z (Pozidriv-type recess, which is why the page maps this designation to DIN 965). The head decision is unchanged from the slotted version — the screw disappears into a countersink where nothing may stand proud — but the drive upgrade is what lets it survive powered assembly lines: the recess engages a cross-point driver with cam-out control a plain slot cannot offer, and the table gives production tooling the exact numbers to hold. For each size it prints the Socket No. (0 through 4, growing with the thread), the M 1 driving dimension (Ref.) that pairs the screw to its bit, and the penetration depth as a min/max band — the recess depth window that keeps the driver from bottoming at max or cam-out at min — separately for Type H and Type Z, because the two recess systems engage at different depths. The remaining columns mirror the slotted head: pitch P, a runout, theoretical and actual d k with limits, head height k, r fillet, x thread-end lash and the thread length b ladder (15 to 40 mm) with the standard's minimum-lengths footnote. Materials, property classes and finishes are not printed by the collected specification and follow the drawing callout.

Ordering & documentation
Documents
Shipments are backed by Mill Test Certificate (MTC), Dimensional Report, Salt Spray Test Report on request, with full batch traceability from raw material to finished product. Quality management follows the owner-confirmed compliance list: ISO 9001:2015, RoHS, REACH. Exact document sets are confirmed on the order.
Quotation
- The fastener family (ISO 7046-1 Countersunk Flat Head Screws (H / Z Cross Recess)) plus the standard designation from your drawing — DIN / ISO / JIS / ASTM / ANSI, or a drawing for custom parts.
- Size (diameter and length), thread type (metric or inch), property class or grade, and coating or finish.
- Quantity per size and your target delivery date.
- Destination country, and any required documents (for example a mill test certificate) so the quote includes them.
Sample & supply
Minimum order quantity is 10,000 pieces. Stock items run 3–7 days. Quantities or variants outside the standard range are confirmed at quotation.
Storage & shipping
Parts are packed for export and shipped factory-direct to buyers in Europe, Asia, the Americas and the Middle East. Store fasteners dry and protected until installation, and keep coated parts in their packaging until use; specific packing and preservation requirements can be stated on the order and confirmed at quotation.
Frequently asked questions
Type H or Type Z — is the recess a free choice?
No — they are different formed recesses engaging different drivers, and the collected table keeps separate penetration-depth bands precisely because they are not interchangeable. The H recess (Phillips-type) has flanks that let the driver cam out deliberately at high torque, which protects small threads; the Z recess (Pozidriv-type) has a blunter engagement that transfers more torque with less cam-out, at the cost of needing the driver kept square under load. The M 1 driving dimension and the Socket No. are printed for each type — M 1 differs between them at the same size (3.2 H against 3 Z at M3, for example) — so a production line must fix the recess type at the drawing stage and hold the matching band; a H driver in a Z recess will spin out at a fraction of the tabulated torque.
How does the head geometry compare with the slotted ISO 2009?
Identical envelope — the collected tables print the same theoretical and actual d k, k and r values size for size, which is the point of the family: the countersunk seat is decided by the countersink in the part, not by the drive. Swapping a slotted ISO 2009 for the cross-recessed ISO 7046-1 changes only the tooling, not the seating, and both carry the same thread-length ladder with the small-size footnote. The swap is therefore safe in tolerance terms, but state the drive change on the drawing: field maintenance tooling stocked for slots will not service a cross-recess line.
What is the MOQ and lead time for these screws?
Minimum order quantity is 10,000 pieces per item. Stocked sizes ship in 3–7 days; non-stock diameters, lengths or finishes are quoted with a confirmed schedule. Common sizes in this designation are widely stocked — confirm the exact schedule against quantity and size mix at quotation.
