DIN 920 Slotted Pan Head Screws
DIN 920 slotted pan head screws, M1 to M10 — the small-size end of the slotted pan family with its own head bands — with the full collected 12-size table: head limits, slot dimensions and thread lengths from M1 upward.
Last updated: 2026-11
Specifications
DIN 920 covers the slotted pan head screw from M1 upward, and its collected table is the deep small-size reference the wider family files do not carry: three full size blocks below M1.6, where the head bands, slot limits and thread-end lash that decide whether an M1 screw can even be driven usefully are tabulated in full. The pan head itself — low rounded dome with a flat bearing circle — is the general-purpose surface-seated head of the slotted family, and DIN 920’s geometry runs a step smaller in head diameter than the DIN 923 series at the same thread, which matters when head projection is budgeted by the millimetre in small mechanisms. The table tabulates per size: pitch P, runout a, thread length in the "+2P, 0" notation (dashed — fully threaded — at M1 to M1.4), head diameter d k with max=nominal / min bands, shank d s, head height k, slot width n, slot depth t, fillet r and thread-end lash x. For standard-size pan heads compare DIN 923, and for an enlarged head DIN 921 on this site. Materials, property classes and finishes are not printed by the collected specification and follow the drawing callout.
| Standard | DIN 920 — slotted pan head screws (small-size series, M1 upward) |
|---|---|
| Series | M1 – M10 (12 sizes tabulated; M1 / M1.2 / M1.4 fully threaded) |
| Tabulated geometry | Per size: pitch P, runout a max, thread length b (+2P,0 notation; “-” for M1–M1.4), head diameter d k (max=nominal / min), shank d s (max=nominal / min), head height k (max / min), slot width n (max / min), slot depth t (max / min), fillet r max, thread-end lash x max |
| Dimensions at M3 | Head d k max=nominal 4 / min 3.82; shank d s max=nominal 3; head height k max 1.92 / min 1.68; slot n max 0.7 / min 0.56; slot depth t max 1.15 / min 0.9; thread b 9 (+2P,0) |
| Dimensions at M1.4 | Head d k max=nominal 2 / min 1.86; head height k max 1.02 / min 0.78; slot n max 0.45 / min 0.31; slot depth t max 0.6 / min 0.45; thread: fully threaded (no b value) |
| Head / drive form | Pan head with slotted drive; head diameter one step below DIN 923 at equal thread |
| Materials / strength | Not tabulated by the collected specification — per RFQ (property class and finish per drawing callout) |

Ordering & documentation
Documents
Shipments are backed by Mill Test Certificate (MTC), Dimensional Report, Salt Spray Test Report on request, with full batch traceability from raw material to finished product. Quality management follows the owner-confirmed compliance list: ISO 9001:2015, RoHS, REACH. Exact document sets are confirmed on the order.
Quotation
- The fastener family (DIN 920 Slotted Pan Head Screws) plus the standard designation from your drawing — DIN / ISO / JIS / ASTM / ANSI, or a drawing for custom parts.
- Size (diameter and length), thread type (metric or inch), property class or grade, and coating or finish.
- Quantity per size and your target delivery date.
- Destination country, and any required documents (for example a mill test certificate) so the quote includes them.
Sample & supply
Minimum order quantity is 10,000 pieces. Stock items run 3–7 days. Quantities or variants outside the standard range are confirmed at quotation.
Storage & shipping
Parts are packed for export and shipped factory-direct to buyers in Europe, Asia, the Americas and the Middle East. Store fasteners dry and protected until installation, and keep coated parts in their packaging until use; specific packing and preservation requirements can be stated on the order and confirmed at quotation.
Frequently asked questions
Why a separate standard for the same pan head below M1.6?
Because small sizes are not scaled-down versions of large ones — they have their own manufacturing physics. Below M1.6 the slot is a fraction of a millimetre wide (the collected n column prints 0.4 mm max at M1), so blade fit and slot depth t decide whether the screw can be installed without cam-out damage at all; the thread-end lash x and fully-threaded condition replace the usual thread-length ladder because there is no room for an unthreaded shank. DIN 920 exists so these limits are specified rather than improvised. The practical consequence at quotation: treat the sub-M1.6 rows as their own engineering problem — driver blade width and slot depth tolerance are the quality levers, and head diameter bands d k are tighter in absolute terms (hundredths of a millimetre) than the same columns at M6.
What is the MOQ and lead time for these screws?
Minimum order quantity is 10,000 pieces per item. Stocked sizes ship in 3–7 days; non-stock diameters, lengths or finishes are quoted with a confirmed schedule. Common sizes in this designation are widely stocked — confirm the exact schedule against quantity and size mix at quotation.
