DIN 910 Hex Head Screw Plugs (Heavy Type, Cylindrical Thread) in an industrial setting

Specifications

DIN 910 is the heavy-duty hex-head plug for closing tapped holes in metal bodies: the wide hex head gives the spanner grip, the collarless cylindrical thread seats into a tapped bore, and the heavy type gives the generous head and thread depth that pressure-tight plugs on pump housings, gearboxes, manifolds and hydraulic blocks need. The series is unusual in carrying both metric threads (M10 up to M52, coarse with second-pitch options at the larger sizes) and G parallel pipe threads (G 1/8 A up to G 1 3/4 A) in the same tabulation — a metric-body housing takes the M plug, a pipe-thread port takes the G plug. The collected tables keep that structure verbatim: each column names its thread (the pipe-thread designation carries the source's "#" variant marker), the e and s rows are printed twice — once per DIN 475-1 and once per DIN ISO 272 — with "-" where a standard does not tabulate the size, the second pitch row repeats the source's "pitch 1" label verbatim, and "^" / "*" markers of no legend appear where the source puts them, all disclosed in the unit notes. Sealing method, materials and finishes are not printed by the collected specification and stay per RFQ — a cylindrical-thread plug seals on a deformable seal or O-ring, not on the thread flanks, so state the medium and pressure at RFQ.

Standard DIN 910 — hexagon head screw plugs, heavy type, cylindrical thread (metric and G pipe-thread variants in one series)
Series M10 – M52 and G 1/8 A – G 1 3/4 A (ten source column groups; "#" marks the source's variant as printed, e.g. "G 1/4A #")
Tabulated geometry Per size: pitch P (both rows printed "pitch 1" verbatim; second row is the size's second pitch), pipe-thread designation d, c (min=nominal/max), head diameter d k (max/min, 14–62 mm), e across corners per DIN 475-1 and DIN ISO 272 (min), thread length i (nominal/max/min, 8–20 mm), height h (≈, 17–40 mm), thread depth m (nominal +1/2 IT15 / max/min), s across flats per DIN 475-1 and DIN ISO 272 (max/min), with "^" and "*" markers of no legend kept verbatim
Function Closes tapped holes in metal housings — pump bodies, gearboxes, manifolds, hydraulic blocks; heavy type for pressure-duty bores
Sealing / materials / finish Not tabulated by the collected specification — per RFQ (state medium, pressure and sealing method: cylindrical thread seals on the seal, not the flanks)
DIN 910 hex head screw plugs - per-size dimensions (M10 G1/8 A - G 1/4A #)All dimensions in millimeters. Heavy type, cylindrical thread. Attribute labels follow the source: P = thread pitch — the source prints both pitch rows as 'pitch 1' verbatim (the second row carries the second pitch of the size where one exists, '-' otherwise) and adds a '*' marker of no legend on some second-pitch values (e.g. '2*'), kept verbatim; d = the pipe-thread designation of the column (G sizes, '#' marks the source's variant as printed); c = chamfer height; d k = head diameter; e = width across corners per DIN 475-1 or DIN ISO 272 as printed; i = thread length on the plug body; h = overall height (≈); m = thread depth on the plug; s = width across flats per DIN 475-1 or DIN ISO 272 as printed, with the source's '^' marker kept verbatim. '-' where the source does not tabulate the cell.

Materials

  • Material and finish specified per RFQ — state the medium (oil, water, air, refrigerant) and pressure at quotation

Ordering & documentation

Documents

Shipments are backed by Mill Test Certificate (MTC), Dimensional Report, Salt Spray Test Report on request, with full batch traceability from raw material to finished product. Quality management follows the owner-confirmed compliance list: ISO 9001:2015, RoHS, REACH. Exact document sets are confirmed on the order.

Quotation

  • The fastener family (DIN 910 Hex Head Screw Plugs (Heavy Type, Cylindrical Thread)) plus the standard designation from your drawing — DIN / ISO / JIS / ASTM / ANSI, or a drawing for custom parts.
  • Size (diameter and length), thread type (metric or inch), property class or grade, and coating or finish.
  • Quantity per size and your target delivery date.
  • Destination country, and any required documents (for example a mill test certificate) so the quote includes them.

Sample & supply

Minimum order quantity is 10,000 pieces. Stock items run 3–7 days. Quantities or variants outside the standard range are confirmed at quotation.

Storage & shipping

Parts are packed for export and shipped factory-direct to buyers in Europe, Asia, the Americas and the Middle East. Store fasteners dry and protected until installation, and keep coated parts in their packaging until use; specific packing and preservation requirements can be stated on the order and confirmed at quotation.

Frequently asked questions

DIN 910, DIN 908 or DIN 906 — which plug for my tapped hole?

Match the drive and the head first, the thread second. All three close a tapped bore; they differ in what the assembly gets at the surface. DIN 910 is the hex-head heavy plug: it stands proud with a wide spanner flat, takes repeated servicing with a normal wrench, and is the pick on pump and gearbox housings where access is easy and torque is real. DIN 908 (hex socket, cylindrical thread) and DIN 906 (hex socket, tapered thread) sit flush below the surface — the pick where a protruding head fouls a guard, a coupling or the flow path. Thread is decided by the port: a metric tapped hole takes the M column of the collected DIN 910 table, a parallel pipe port takes the G column (the source's "#" variant marker is kept in the tables — name the exact variant at RFQ). And because these cylindrical threads seal on the joint, not the flanks, specify the seal: the collected specification does not tabulate one, so state medium and pressure and the seal is confirmed per order.

What is the MOQ and lead time for this screw type?

The minimum order quantity is 10,000 pieces. Stock items ship in 3–7 days; non-stock items are confirmed at quotation. Common sizes in this screw type are widely stocked; confirm the exact schedule against quantity and size mix at quotation.
