DIN 96 Slotted Round Head Wood Screws
DIN 96 slotted round head wood screws from (1.6) to (8), with the full collected per-size table: domed head diameter and height with tolerance bands, slot width and depth, and thread diameter tolerances — the fully domed, no-countersink member of the classic wood-screw line for thin stock and through-fixing.

Specifications
DIN 96 is the round-head wood screw: a full dome seated directly on the surface, needing no countersink at all. That makes it the wood screw for thin stock — the classic pattern on switch plates, small hardware brackets, toy and craft construction, and any joint too thin to cut a countersink into without weakening it. Because the head bears on the surface rather than inside the material, the whole clamping geometry differs from the countersunk line: the bearing ring under the dome spreads the load on the face fibres, and over-driving shows up immediately as a crushed face rather than a sunken head. The collected table runs (1.6) to (8) with, per size: head diameter d k nominal/max/min, head height k nominal/max/min — the only wood-screw table of this series that tabulates a height nominal band rather than a single max — slot width n and depth t, and thread diameter d s with tolerances. As with DIN 95, the collected table prints no length ranges, so lengths are confirmed per RFQ. Choose within the line by head: flush (DIN 97), crowned flush (DIN 95), or proud dome (this page); all three share the same coarse wood thread logic and pilot-hole discipline.

Ordering & documentation
Documents
Shipments are backed by Mill Test Certificate (MTC), Dimensional Report, Salt Spray Test Report on request, with full batch traceability from raw material to finished product. Quality management follows the owner-confirmed compliance list: ISO 9001:2015, RoHS, REACH. Exact document sets are confirmed on the order.
Quotation
- The fastener family (DIN 96 Slotted Round Head Wood Screws) plus the standard designation from your drawing — DIN / ISO / JIS / ASTM / ANSI, or a drawing for custom parts.
- Size (diameter and length), thread type (metric or inch), property class or grade, and coating or finish.
- Quantity per size and your target delivery date.
- Destination country, and any required documents (for example a mill test certificate) so the quote includes them.
Sample & supply
Minimum order quantity is 10,000 pieces. Stock items run 3–7 days. Quantities or variants outside the standard range are confirmed at quotation.
Storage & shipping
Parts are packed for export and shipped factory-direct to buyers in Europe, Asia, the Americas and the Middle East. Store fasteners dry and protected until installation, and keep coated parts in their packaging until use; specific packing and preservation requirements can be stated on the order and confirmed at quotation.
Frequently asked questions
When is a round head the right wood screw head?
When the stock is too thin for a countersink, when the surface must not be cut, or when the dome is the desired finish. The head bears on the face of the material instead of inside a countersink, so no stock is removed at assembly — the tradeoff is that the head stands proud and the bearing load concentrates in a ring under the dome, which the table sizes through the d k and k rows per diameter.
What should an RFQ for DIN 96 wood screws state?
The designation, diameter and length (lengths are not tabulated in the collected specification, so confirm stock lengths at quotation), material and finish, and quantity per size. For visible work, state the head finish — domed heads show plating quality more than countersunk heads do. Head and slot tolerances are on this page; commercial terms follow the quotation.
What is the MOQ and lead time for these screws?
Minimum order quantity is 10,000 pieces per item. Stocked sizes ship in 3–7 days; non-stock diameters, lengths or finishes are quoted with a confirmed schedule. Common sizes in this designation are widely stocked — confirm the exact schedule against quantity and size mix at quotation.
