DIN 85 Slotted Pan Head Screws
DIN 85 pan head machine screws with slotted drive, M3 to M10 — the classic domed pan head with a simple slot — with the full collected 7-size table: head geometry, slot width and depth, fillet, thread-end lash and thread lengths.

Specifications
DIN 85 is the slotted pan head machine screw — the roundish, low-domed head that sits on the surface without countersinking, driven by a plain flat-blade screwdriver through a single slot. It is the pan head counterpart of the slotted cheese head DIN 84 on this site: slightly larger bearing diameter, same slot drive, same metric coarse series. The collected table runs M3 to M10 and tabulates what matters at the bench: the slot width n (Nominal Size with min/max limits — the dimension your flat-blade tip must match, and the reason slotted screws strip their slot when driven with the wrong blade width), the slot depth t minimum, head diameter d k and height k with their limits, the a/x runout and lash limits at the thread end, and the thread length b per size. Where a countersunk or low-profile head is not required and a simple slot is preferred over a recess, DIN 85 remains the stocking answer; the cross-recessed equivalent is DIN 7985, the socket-cap alternative DIN 912. Materials, property classes and finishes are not printed by the collected specification and follow the drawing callout.

Ordering & documentation
Documents
Shipments are backed by Mill Test Certificate (MTC), Dimensional Report, Salt Spray Test Report on request, with full batch traceability from raw material to finished product. Quality management follows the owner-confirmed compliance list: ISO 9001:2015, RoHS, REACH. Exact document sets are confirmed on the order.
Quotation
- The fastener family (DIN 85 Slotted Pan Head Screws) plus the standard designation from your drawing — DIN / ISO / JIS / ASTM / ANSI, or a drawing for custom parts.
- Size (diameter and length), thread type (metric or inch), property class or grade, and coating or finish.
- Quantity per size and your target delivery date.
- Destination country, and any required documents (for example a mill test certificate) so the quote includes them.
Sample & supply
Minimum order quantity is 10,000 pieces. Stock items run 3–7 days. Quantities or variants outside the standard range are confirmed at quotation.
Storage & shipping
Parts are packed for export and shipped factory-direct to buyers in Europe, Asia, the Americas and the Middle East. Store fasteners dry and protected until installation, and keep coated parts in their packaging until use; specific packing and preservation requirements can be stated on the order and confirmed at quotation.
Frequently asked questions
When does a slotted pan head still make sense over a cross-recessed one?
Where the assembly is serviced with hand tools, where the slot must stay visible and cleanable (paint, food-grade and reinstallable equipment work), or where the flat-blade is the specified tool for torque control. The slot is also the cheapest recess to form and to re-cut in the field. The trade-offs are real: the slot accepts less torque before cam-out than a cross or hexalobular recess, and the n column's min/max slot limits mean the driver blade width must actually fit — driving with an oversized blade is the classic way slotted heads are ruined.
What is the MOQ and lead time for these screws?
Minimum order quantity is 10,000 pieces per item. Stocked sizes ship in 3–7 days; non-stock diameters, lengths or finishes are quoted with a confirmed schedule. Common sizes in this designation are widely stocked — confirm the exact schedule against quantity and size mix at quotation.
