DIN 915 Socket Set Screws (Full Dog Point)
Hexagon socket set screws with full dog point per DIN 915 — current norm DIN EN ISO 4028 — M3 to M12 in the collected table, 45H steel or A2/A4 stainless, thread 6g. The pilot-engaging grub screw that locates in a hole instead of biting a surface.

Specifications
The full dog point set screw does not mark its mating part — it enters it: a cylindrical pilot on the tip rides in a matching hole or groove, so the screw locks a hub, collar or gear against rotation while the pilot takes the locating duty. The collected standard table covers M3 through M12, with the dog point diameter (dp) stepping 1.75 / 2.25 / 3.2 / 3.7 / 5.2 / 6.64 / 8.14 mm across those sizes and the pilot length (z) stepping 1.5 to 6 mm; length availability runs l 3–60. Makings are 45H steel or A2/A4 stainless, thread tolerance 6g; at M6 the socket takes a 3 mm hex key with 2 mm minimum engagement (t min/max 2/3.5). DIN 915's current norm is DIN EN ISO 4028. The design intent is opposite to the cone and cup points: the dog point needs a prepared hole to seat in, and in exchange it leaves the shaft surface untouched and holds position without digging deeper over time.

Ordering & documentation
Documents
Shipments are backed by Mill Test Certificate (MTC), Dimensional Report, Salt Spray Test Report on request, with full batch traceability from raw material to finished product. Quality management follows the owner-confirmed compliance list: ISO 9001:2015, RoHS, REACH. Exact document sets are confirmed on the order.
Quotation
- The fastener family (DIN 915 Socket Set Screws (Full Dog Point)) plus the standard designation from your drawing — DIN / ISO / JIS / ASTM / ANSI, or a drawing for custom parts.
- Size (diameter and length), thread type (metric or inch), property class or grade, and coating or finish.
- Quantity per size and your target delivery date.
- Destination country, and any required documents (for example a mill test certificate) so the quote includes them.
Sample & supply
Minimum order quantity is 10,000 pieces. Stock items run 3–7 days. Quantities or variants outside the standard range are confirmed at quotation.
Storage & shipping
Parts are packed for export and shipped factory-direct to buyers in Europe, Asia, the Americas and the Middle East. Store fasteners dry and protected until installation, and keep coated parts in their packaging until use; specific packing and preservation requirements can be stated on the order and confirmed at quotation.
Frequently asked questions
Does a dog-point set screw need a special hole in the shaft?
Yes — that is the point of the design. The cylindrical pilot (dp by z in the collected table) is meant to ride in a matching drilled hole or a groove in the shaft, which is what lets it locate a hub or collar without cutting into the surface the way cup or cone points do. The hole diameter should match the pilot, and the pilot length sets how deep it engages. If your assembly has no prepared hole, a cup point (DIN 916) that bites its own seat is the lower-preparation alternative — the trade-off is a permanent surface mark.
What is the MOQ and lead time for these screws?
Minimum order quantity is 10,000 pieces per item. Stocked sizes ship in 3–7 days; non-stock diameters, lengths or finishes are quoted with a confirmed schedule. Common sizes in this designation are widely stocked — confirm the exact schedule against quantity and size mix at quotation.
What should an RFQ for these screws state?
State the standard designation (for example DIN 914, DIN 915, DIN 7981/7982/7983 — or the ISO designation your drawing prints), thread or tapping size, length or head dimension, strength class or material (such as 45H, 4.8, A2-70, A4-80 or brass), finish (black oxide, zinc plated, or plain), required certificates such as a mill test report per EN 10204 3.1, and quantity per size — plus destination country.
