ISO 1207 Slotted Cheese Head Screws
ISO 1207 machine screws with slotted cheese head, M1.6 to M10 — the flat-topped cylindrical head that gives a deep slot and a stable seat for small assembly work — with the full collected 10-size table: head geometry, slot limits, thread-end lash and thread lengths with the small-size footnote.

Specifications
ISO 1207 is the slotted cheese head screw: a cylindrical head with a flat top and parallel sides — lower and squarer than the DIN 85 pan head — whose tall, straight flank is what gives the slot its unusual depth for the head size. A deeper slot accepts a thicker driver blade, so the cheese head holds torque better than its low-domed cousins at the same thread, which is why it survives in small electrical assemblies, switchgear, instrument work and anywhere a flat-blade screw must be removed and re-driven many times. The collected table runs M1.6 to M10 and tabulates per size: head diameter d k and height k with max=nominal / min limits, slot width n as Nominal / max / min, slot depth t min, the a runout and x thread-end lash limits, the r fillet and the thread length b ladder (15 to 40 mm). At the small end the table carries the standard's own footnote verbatim: for M1.6, M2 and M2.5 the b column prints the footnote marker instead of a value — thread up to the head, no reduced shank. Materials, property classes and finishes are not printed by the collected specification and follow the drawing callout.
| Standard | ISO 1207 — slotted cheese head screws (cylindrical head, flat top) |
|---|---|
| Series | M1.6 – M10 (10 sizes tabulated) |
| Tabulated geometry | Per size: pitch P, runout a max, head diameter d k (max=nominal / min), head height k (max=nominal / min), slot width n (Nominal / max / min), slot depth t min, thread-end lash x max, fillet r min, thread length b |
| Dimensions at M3 | d k max=nominal 5.5 / min 5.32; k max=nominal 2 / min 1.86; n nominal 0.6 (max 0.8 / min 0.66); t min 0.85; a max 1; x max 1.25; r min 0.1; b 15 |
| Dimensions at M6 | d k max=nominal 10 / min 9.78; k max=nominal 3.9 / min 3.6; n nominal 1.6 (max 1.91 / min 1.66); t min 1.6; x max 2.5; r min 0.25; b 28 |
| Dimensions at M10 | d k max=nominal 16 / min 15.73; k max=nominal 6 / min 5.7; n nominal 2.5 (max 2.81 / min 2.56); t min 2.4; x max 3.8; r min 0.4; b 40 |
| Thread-length footnote | Small sizes M1.6 / M2 / M2.5 print footnote marker 1) in the b column, per the collected table: only with thread up to the head (no reduced shank) |
| Materials / strength | Not tabulated by the collected specification — per RFQ (property class and finish per drawing callout) |

Ordering & documentation
Documents
Shipments are backed by Mill Test Certificate (MTC), Dimensional Report, Salt Spray Test Report on request, with full batch traceability from raw material to finished product. Quality management follows the owner-confirmed compliance list: ISO 9001:2015, RoHS, REACH. Exact document sets are confirmed on the order.
Quotation
- The fastener family (ISO 1207 Slotted Cheese Head Screws) plus the standard designation from your drawing — DIN / ISO / JIS / ASTM / ANSI, or a drawing for custom parts.
- Size (diameter and length), thread type (metric or inch), property class or grade, and coating or finish.
- Quantity per size and your target delivery date.
- Destination country, and any required documents (for example a mill test certificate) so the quote includes them.
Sample & supply
Minimum order quantity is 10,000 pieces. Stock items run 3–7 days. Quantities or variants outside the standard range are confirmed at quotation.
Storage & shipping
Parts are packed for export and shipped factory-direct to buyers in Europe, Asia, the Americas and the Middle East. Store fasteners dry and protected until installation, and keep coated parts in their packaging until use; specific packing and preservation requirements can be stated on the order and confirmed at quotation.
Frequently asked questions
Cheese head or pan head — what actually changes on the joint?
Both are surface-seated heads of similar diameter, so the bearing circle barely moves between them. What changes is height and slot depth: the cheese head is taller and straight-sided, so its slot is deeper for the same head size — the collected table shows the t column deep enough to take a substantially thicker blade than the equivalent pan head — which is the whole reason it resists driver cam-out and survives repeated re-driving in service work. The pan head trades that back for a lower profile and a smoother lead-in. Choose ISO 1207 where service torque and re-work cycles dominate (electrical gear, instruments); choose the pan head DIN 85 where clearance height or appearance leads.
Why do the smallest three sizes carry a footnote instead of a thread length?
In the collected table the b column for M1.6, M2 and M2.5 prints the footnote marker rather than a number, and the footnote reads: only with thread up to the head. That is the standard telling you these sizes are supplied fully threaded to the head — there is no reduced unthreaded shank, so a tabulated thread length does not apply. The practical consequence for drawings: do not treat the M3-and-up b ladder as extensible downward; for the small sizes the thread runs to the bearing face by design, and any partial-thread requirement there is a special confirmation at quotation, not a catalogue selection.
What is the MOQ and lead time for these screws?
Minimum order quantity is 10,000 pieces per item. Stocked sizes ship in 3–7 days; non-stock diameters, lengths or finishes are quoted with a confirmed schedule. Common sizes in this designation are widely stocked — confirm the exact schedule against quantity and size mix at quotation.
