Specifications
TEKS/2 is the thin-sheet point class of the inch TEK ladder. The collected selection table runs it across six screw sizes — No. 4, No. 6, No. 8, No. 10, No. 12 and 1/4" — each with the recommended material thickness range its point will drill and the drill-point length that does the work. The thinnest sizes start at .035" of steel: the No. 4 point handles .035–.080", the No. 6 .035–.090", the No. 8 .035–.100", the No. 10 .035–.110", the No. 12 .035–.140" and the 1/4" point the widest window of the class at .035–.175". Point length grows with screw size, from .140" at No. 4/No. 6 to .296" at 1/4" — the flute that must cut through the full stack before the threads engage. For stacks beyond these windows the ladder steps up: TEKS/3 carries the medium-gauge range and the heavier classes take over from there (see the related TEKS/3 and TEKS/4 pages). The collected table carries no head-form, thread-pitch or length columns; those are fixed at quotation with the panel system.

Materials
- Case-hardened carbon steel with corrosion-resistant plating is the standard construction for inch TEK self-drillers; stainless (410) and other finishes confirmed at quotation
Ordering & documentation
Documents
Shipments are backed by Mill Test Certificate (MTC), Dimensional Report, Salt Spray Test Report on request, with full batch traceability from raw material to finished product. Quality management follows the owner-confirmed compliance list: ISO 9001:2015, RoHS, REACH. Exact document sets are confirmed on the order.
Quotation
- The fastener family (TEKS/2 Self-Drilling Screws (Light Gauge Metals Point Class)) plus the standard designation from your drawing — DIN / ISO / JIS / ASTM / ANSI, or a drawing for custom parts.
- Size (diameter and length), thread type (metric or inch), property class or grade, and coating or finish.
- Quantity per size and your target delivery date.
- Destination country, and any required documents (for example a mill test certificate) so the quote includes them.
Sample & supply
Minimum order quantity is 10,000 pieces. Stock items run 3–7 days. Quantities or variants outside the standard range are confirmed at quotation.
Storage & shipping
Parts are packed for export and shipped factory-direct to buyers in Europe, Asia, the Americas and the Middle East. Store fasteners dry and protected until installation, and keep coated parts in their packaging until use; specific packing and preservation requirements can be stated on the order and confirmed at quotation.
Frequently asked questions
Why choose TEKS/2 over the other TEK point numbers?
By total steel thickness. The collected selection table assigns the class its thin-sheet windows: every size in the table starts drilling at .035" and tops out between .080" and .175" depending on screw diameter: the point must pierce the whole stack in one operation, so a point class below the total thickness stalls or snaps its tip, and a class far above it leaves an unnecessarily long drill flute that wastes engagement. Match the printed material-thickness range for your screw diameter to the measured stack, and step up to the next TEK number when the stack exceeds it. State the total thickness on the RFQ so the point class is confirmed against the ladder rather than assumed.
What stack does a No. 10 TEKS/2 actually drill?
The collected table prints a .035–.110" window for the No. 10 size — roughly one to two layers of light sheet. Count the total thickness of everything being clamped (panels, purlins, bracket) at the thickest point of the run, not the nominal single-sheet figure: if the stack exceeds .110", the point class steps up to TEKS/3 at No. 10 (.110–.175") rather than forcing the TEKS/2 point. Point length scales the same way, .203" at No. 10.
What is the MOQ and lead time for these self-drilling screws?
Minimum order quantity is 10,000 pieces per item. Stocked sizes ship in 3–7 days; non-stock diameters, lengths or finishes are quoted with a confirmed schedule. Confirm the exact schedule against quantity and size mix at quotation.
What should an RFQ for inch TEK screws state?
State the screw gauge (No. 6, No. 8, No. 10, No. 12, 1/4"), the TEK point number required for the total metal thickness being drilled, head form and drive, length, finish (for example zinc plated or 410 stainless), required certificates such as a mill test report per EN 10204 3.1, and quantity per size — plus destination country.
