Stitch TEK Self-Drilling Screws (Sheet-to-Sheet Stitching)

Stitch TEK self-drilling screws as printed by the collected special-purpose table: 1/4" and 5/16" diameters stitching up to two sheets of 24-gauge cold-rolled steel, and fastening plywood or composite over 1/2" to metal.

Specifications

Stitching is the high-frequency end of self-drilling: screws placed on a close pitch to stitch two thin panels together along a seam or a flashing line. The collected table gives the Stitch TEK class the two largest diameters of the special-purpose group — 1/4" and 5/16" — with a deliberately shallow window: up to two sheets of 24-gauge cold-rolled steel. The wider diameter keeps the screw head pull-through resistance up on thin, flexible sheets that a smaller screw would tear at the bearing point, while the shallow drilling window keeps the point from over-drilling the second sheet before the threads engage. The same class carries the wood-to-metal pairing printed for the group — plywood or composite over 1/2" fastened to metal — so a flashing that runs from roof ply into the metal deck orders from one line. The collected table prints no drill-point length for this class; point geometry is confirmed against the panel system at quotation.

Ordering & documentation

Documents

Shipments are backed by Mill Test Certificate (MTC), Dimensional Report, Salt Spray Test Report on request, with full batch traceability from raw material to finished product. Quality management follows the owner-confirmed compliance list: ISO 9001:2015, RoHS, REACH. Exact document sets are confirmed on the order.

Quotation

  • The fastener family (Stitch TEK Self-Drilling Screws (Sheet-to-Sheet Stitching)) plus the standard designation from your drawing — DIN / ISO / JIS / ASTM / ANSI, or a drawing for custom parts.
  • Size (diameter and length), thread type (metric or inch), property class or grade, and coating or finish.
  • Quantity per size and your target delivery date.
  • Destination country, and any required documents (for example a mill test certificate) so the quote includes them.

Sample & supply

Minimum order quantity is 10,000 pieces. Stock items run 3–7 days. Quantities or variants outside the standard range are confirmed at quotation.

Storage & shipping

Parts are packed for export and shipped factory-direct to buyers in Europe, Asia, the Americas and the Middle East. Store fasteners dry and protected until installation, and keep coated parts in their packaging until use; specific packing and preservation requirements can be stated on the order and confirmed at quotation.

Frequently asked questions

Why is the drilling window capped at two 24-gauge sheets?

Because stitching is a shallow, high-count application. The point only has to pierce roughly .048" × 2 of steel before the threads bite; a longer drilling window would need a longer flute, which on thin sheet tends to over-drill the second panel and wallow the hole before the thread engages. If your stack is thicker than two 24-gauge sheets, the gauge-series classes (TEKS/2 through the Special TEKS/2) are the correct ladder to consult — they publish per-size thickness windows for exactly that purpose.

What does the plywood-or-composite pairing change at ordering time?

The base material the point drills and the thread it lands in differ from the steel-to-steel case, so the screw that works in both is a specific construction of point and thread geometry — which is why the collected table groups the pairing under the same class instead of leaving it to the gauge ladder. State both layers on the RFQ: the plywood/composite thickness (over 1/2" per the printed pairing) and the metal base it fastens to. The supplier confirms the exact point and thread construction for that stack before quoting.

What is the MOQ and lead time for these self-drilling screws?

Minimum order quantity is 10,000 pieces per item. Stocked sizes ship in 3–7 days; non-stock diameters, lengths or finishes are quoted with a confirmed schedule. Confirm the exact schedule against quantity and size mix at quotation.

What should an RFQ for these special-purpose TEK screws state?

State the point class (Stitch, Plymetal, Plymetal with Wings, Drywall or Gypsum TEK), the screw diameter from the class table, the base material it drills into and the total thickness or gauge of the stack, head form and drive, length, finish (for example zinc plated or 410 stainless), required certificates such as a mill test report per EN 10204 3.1, and quantity per size — plus destination country.
