Specifications

The flat-point slotted set screw is the lightest-duty member of the set-screw family this catalog carries in hex-socket form (ISO 4026/4027/4028/4029): a slot instead of a socket means a plain screwdriver drives it, and the flat point bears on the mating part without digging — indexing small pulleys, collars and knobs where the clamp is more position than torque. The collected page is the widest size ladder in this batch: M1 to M12 with pitch P, point diameter dp (0,5 → 8,5 nominal max.), slot width n in nominal/max./min. and slot depth t. The length ladder runs l 2 to 60 with per-thread mass in kg/1000 pcs and "+" trade-size marks where the source offers a length without tabulated weight; the (14) length is the source's own non-preferred marking. One verbatim quirk is flagged: the l 16 row prints an M8 mass of 2,1 that steps the wrong way between its neighbours — carried, not corrected. Property class and finish are not tabulated — per RFQ.

Standard ISO 4766 — slotted set screws with flat point (slotted grub screws)
Size range M1 – M12 with (M3,5) as the source's non-preferred marking; length ladder l 2 – 60
Point geometry Flat point, dp nominal max. 0,5 → 8,5 mm across the ladder
Slot n nominal 0,2 → 2; t (nominal min.) 0,4 → 2,8
Mass kg/1000 pcs per thread from the length ladder; "+" = trade size per the source's own marker
Material / class / finish Not tabulated by the collected specification — per RFQ
ISO 4766 slotted set screws - point/slot attribute rows per thread size (M1 - M12)All dimensions in millimetres. Attribute labels follow the source: P = thread pitch, df = the source's own spanning label 'Minor thread diameter' (a header band, not a value row - carried verbatim), dp = point diameter, n = slot width, t = slot depth. Limit words (Nominal max./min./Nominal/nominal min./max.) are the source's own capitalisation.

Materials

  • Property class and finish specified per RFQ — small set screws commonly run 14H/22H case-hardened steel with black or zinc finish; state the mating material (the flat point marks softer shafts less) and any stainless need at quotation

Ordering & documentation

Documents

Shipments are backed by Mill Test Certificate (MTC), Dimensional Report, Salt Spray Test Report on request, with full batch traceability from raw material to finished product. Quality management follows the owner-confirmed compliance list: ISO 9001:2015, RoHS, REACH. Exact document sets are confirmed on the order.

Quotation

  • The fastener family (ISO 4766 Slotted Set Screws, Flat Point) plus the standard designation from your drawing — DIN / ISO / JIS / ASTM / ANSI, or a drawing for custom parts.
  • Size (diameter and length), thread type (metric or inch), property class or grade, and coating or finish.
  • Quantity per size and your target delivery date.
  • Destination country, and any required documents (for example a mill test certificate) so the quote includes them.

Sample & supply

Minimum order quantity is 10,000 pieces. Stock items run 3–7 days. Quantities or variants outside the standard range are confirmed at quotation.

Storage & shipping

Parts are packed for export and shipped factory-direct to buyers in Europe, Asia, the Americas and the Middle East. Store fasteners dry and protected until installation, and keep coated parts in their packaging until use; specific packing and preservation requirements can be stated on the order and confirmed at quotation.

Frequently asked questions

Flat point (ISO 4766) or cup point — which slotted set screw for a small shaft collar?

Bearing surface versus bite. The flat point spreads its clamp over a small annulus, so it positions without marring — right for knobs, index pointers and any part you will reposition; but on a smooth shaft under torque it holds less than a point that digs. The cup point (this catalog carries it as ISO 7436 in slotted form) bites a shallow ring into the shaft and resists rotation far better — the standard choice where the set screw is the only anti-slip element. Both lines here are slotted, i.e. screwdriver-driven: the collected ISO 4766 ladder runs M1 to M12 with the full mass table, ISO 7436 covers the d 1,4 – 6 cup-point range. If the joint sees real torque, step up to the hex-socket set screws (ISO 4026 flat / 4029 cup) — the socket takes installation torque a slot cannot. Class and finish per RFQ on all of them; watch the flagged l 16 mass cell on this page if you compute shipping weights.
