Specifications

The flat-point set screw is the headless clamp: a fully threaded grub screw driven by an internal hexagon, its flat point pressing a shallow ring seat into the shaft or mating part it locks. The collected standard table runs M1.4 through M24 in 45H steel (the set-screw hardness class) or A2/A4 stainless, thread tolerance 6g. At M6 the point measures 4 mm across, with a 3 mm hex socket and a 2 mm minimum key engagement — proportions that let the screw dig in and hold without a trial fit. DIN 913's current norm is DIN EN ISO 4026; the flat point is the general-purpose tip of the set-screw family, chosen over cup, cone or dog points when the mating surface must not be deeply marked.

Standard DIN 913 — hexagon socket set screw with flat point; current norm DIN EN ISO 4026
Size range M1.4 – M24
Dimensions at M6 dp (point diameter) max 4 mm; s (hex socket) nominal 3 mm; t (key engagement) min 2 mm
Strength classes Steel 45H; stainless A2, A4

Hex socket set screws with flat point, metric - body diameter, point diameter and preferred length (M3 - M24)All dimensions in millimeters. Labels follow the source grid header chain: D max = body/shank diameter; J max = flat point diameter (matches the ISO 4026 dp max series exactly at all ten sizes); L preferred min = preferred minimum length. The source grid carries the flat, cone and dog point blocks side by side; only the flat block is shown here, and the cone and dog blocks are carried on their own pages. The grid starts at M3 — smaller metric sizes are not printed by this source. Values carried verbatim. The D max column prints 4.25 for M6 on this grid where the same guide’s cup-point grid (p.46) prints 4.35 — each grid is carried verbatim as printed.

Ordering & documentation

Documents

Shipments are backed by Mill Test Certificate (MTC), Dimensional Report, Salt Spray Test Report on request, with full batch traceability from raw material to finished product. Quality management follows the owner-confirmed compliance list: ISO 9001:2015, RoHS, REACH. Exact document sets are confirmed on the order.

Quotation

  • The fastener family (DIN 913 Socket Set Screws (Flat Point)) plus the standard designation from your drawing — DIN / ISO / JIS / ASTM / ANSI, or a drawing for custom parts.
  • Size (diameter and length), thread type (metric or inch), property class or grade, and coating or finish.
  • Quantity per size and your target delivery date.
  • Destination country, and any required documents (for example a mill test certificate) so the quote includes them.

Sample & supply

Minimum order quantity is 10,000 pieces. Stock items run 3–7 days. Quantities or variants outside the standard range are confirmed at quotation.

Storage & shipping

Parts are packed for export and shipped factory-direct to buyers in Europe, Asia, the Americas and the Middle East. Store fasteners dry and protected until installation, and keep coated parts in their packaging until use; specific packing and preservation requirements can be stated on the order and confirmed at quotation.

Frequently asked questions

Where does a flat-point set screw grip best?

On parts where a shallow seat is enough: the flat point spreads its clamp over a small ring face, which holds hubs, collars, pulleys and indexing handles against light torque without cutting deeply into the shaft. The trade-off is holding power at the tip — against higher torque or rotation reversal, cup or cone points bite harder, and against a hardened shaft a flat point may need a shallow flat spot machined on the surface to seat on. For most office-machine, fixture and hand-tool assemblies, the flat point is the tip that does the job without ruining the shaft.

What is the MOQ and lead time for these socket screws?

Minimum order quantity is 10,000 pieces per item. Stocked sizes ship in 3–7 days; non-stock diameters, lengths or finishes are quoted with a confirmed schedule. Common sizes in this designation are widely stocked — confirm the exact schedule against quantity and size mix at quotation.

What should an RFQ for these socket screws state?

State the standard designation (for example DIN 912, ISO 4762 or DIN 913), thread size and pitch, head or length dimension, strength class or stainless grade (such as 12.9, A2-70 or A4-80), finish (black oxide, zinc plated, or plain), required certificates such as a mill test report per EN 10204 3.1, and quantity per size — plus destination country.
