TX34 6-Lobe Pin TX Security Grub Screw — Cone Point in an industrial setting

Specifications

The cone point is where the grub screw stops being gentle: a sharp tapered tip that penetrates the mating surface on installation, and the collected page credits it with the highest torsional holding power of all grub screw types. That behaviour writes its own application list — permanent settings, pivot points, adjusting screws where fine incremental changes are set and then locked, soft and hard surfaces alike. Security comes from the same two mechanisms as the rest of this batch: the centre pin in the 6-lobe socket, and the medium-security character of a drive only the matched insert bit can turn. The tabulated range spans M1.6 to M24, with socket depth and width stated from M3 (the M1.6–M2.5 columns dash — no tool claims for them), driven by TX6–TX60 tools. Like TX33, the metric availability matrix marks every tabulated cell to order from 2 mm to 120 mm — a made-to-order line, with the imperial table tabulated to 2″ but carrying markers the collected legend does not define, so imperial stays at quotation. Supply is stated in steel, A2 and A4 stainless steel as standard, with the standard caveat of the line that surface penetration is the design intent — do not specify cone point against a surface you later need undamaged.

Designation TX34 — cone point security grub screw (set screw), 6-lobe pin TX drive, headless, fully threaded; cone tip penetrates the contact surface for the highest torsional holding of the grub types; suited to permanent settings, pivot and adjusting duties

Ordering & documentation

Documents

Shipments are backed by Mill Test Certificate (MTC), Dimensional Report, Salt Spray Test Report on request, with full batch traceability from raw material to finished product. Quality management follows the owner-confirmed compliance list: ISO 9001:2015, RoHS, REACH. Exact document sets are confirmed on the order.

Quotation

  • The fastener family (TX34 6-Lobe Pin TX Security Grub Screw — Cone Point) plus the standard designation from your drawing — DIN / ISO / JIS / ASTM / ANSI, or a drawing for custom parts.
  • Size (diameter and length), thread type (metric or inch), property class or grade, and coating or finish.
  • Quantity per size and your target delivery date.
  • Destination country, and any required documents (for example a mill test certificate) so the quote includes them.

Sample & supply

Minimum order quantity is 10,000 pieces. Stock items run 3–7 days. Quantities or variants outside the standard range are confirmed at quotation.

Storage & shipping

Parts are packed for export and shipped factory-direct to buyers in Europe, Asia, the Americas and the Middle East. Store fasteners dry and protected until installation, and keep coated parts in their packaging until use; specific packing and preservation requirements can be stated on the order and confirmed at quotation.

Frequently asked questions

When is cone point the wrong choice?

Whenever the mating surface has to survive. The cone penetrates by design — that is where its class-leading torsional holding comes from — so it mars shafts, leaves a crater in soft materials, and is a one-position fixing: back it out and the dimple stays. Flat point (TX32) is the non-marring answer for adjusted joints and finished surfaces; cup point (TX28) is the middle path; dog point (TX33) when the part must rotate on the screw. Cone point earns its keep in permanent settings, as a pivot, or as an adjusting screw that is set once and locked.

How does the security drive change a permanent set screw?

It closes the usual back door. A conventional cone point set screw is defeated by any hex key that fits its socket; TX34’s 6-lobe pin socket requires the matched restricted insert bit, and the collected page adds the cam-out resistance that lets you torque it to full holding without rounding the recess. For permanent settings that is the combination that matters: maximum holding at the tip, and no casual tool in the world that will turn it back out.

What should an RFQ for TX34 state?

State the designation (TX34 6-lobe pin TX cone point grub screw), thread size and length, material (steel, A2 or A4 stainless as standard), the surface it will penetrate, quantity per size and lead time — the metric matrix marks every pair to order — plus TX-series bit supply. Imperial sizes are tabulated to 3/8-24 × 2″ but carry no legend-defined markers, so request confirmation per pair.
