DIN 97 Slotted Countersunk Head Wood Screws
DIN 97 slotted countersunk head wood screws from (1.6) to (10), with the full collected per-size table: head diameter and countersink angle geometry, slot dimensions, head height, thread diameter tolerances and the only length-range ladder tabulated across the collected wood-screw series — the flush-finish wood screw of the classic line.

Specifications
DIN 97 is the classic flat-head wood screw: a countersunk head that sits flush in the timber, driven by a simple slotted screwdriver. It is the screw for hinges, lock plates, furniture work and anywhere a proud head would catch — the countersink bears the turning friction directly against the wood, which is why the head geometry in the collected table matters as much as the thread. The table runs the full series from the delicate (1.6) up to the structural (10): head diameter d k with its max/min tolerance band, head height k, slot width n and depth t, and thread diameter d s with tolerances. It is also the only page of this wood-screw series whose collected table prints length ranges per diameter — from 8–16 mm at (1.6) to 40–80 mm at (10) — which makes quoting straightforward: pick the diameter, pick the length inside the printed window, and state both. Two selection notes: slotted drives tolerate paint and site dirt better than recessed drives but power-drive poorly, so on production lines prefer the recessed or socket lines elsewhere on this site; and near-flush seating needs the right pilot and a countersink cut, otherwise the head stands proud or buries too deep to bite. For the raised-head and round-head siblings, see DIN 95 and DIN 96.

Ordering & documentation
Documents
Shipments are backed by Mill Test Certificate (MTC), Dimensional Report, Salt Spray Test Report on request, with full batch traceability from raw material to finished product. Quality management follows the owner-confirmed compliance list: ISO 9001:2015, RoHS, REACH. Exact document sets are confirmed on the order.
Quotation
- The fastener family (DIN 97 Slotted Countersunk Head Wood Screws) plus the standard designation from your drawing — DIN / ISO / JIS / ASTM / ANSI, or a drawing for custom parts.
- Size (diameter and length), thread type (metric or inch), property class or grade, and coating or finish.
- Quantity per size and your target delivery date.
- Destination country, and any required documents (for example a mill test certificate) so the quote includes them.
Sample & supply
Minimum order quantity is 10,000 pieces. Stock items run 3–7 days. Quantities or variants outside the standard range are confirmed at quotation.
Storage & shipping
Parts are packed for export and shipped factory-direct to buyers in Europe, Asia, the Americas and the Middle East. Store fasteners dry and protected until installation, and keep coated parts in their packaging until use; specific packing and preservation requirements can be stated on the order and confirmed at quotation.
Frequently asked questions
Slotted or recessed drive for countersunk wood screws?
The slot on DIN 97 tolerates paint, site dirt and a worn hand screwdriver better than any recess, which is why it survives in maintenance-heavy and outdoor hardware. The tradeoff is power driving: a slotted head cam-outs under a drill unless the driver is pressed dead-square, so on production lines recessed or socket-drive screw lines are preferred. The collected table on this page covers the slotted line; match whatever drive your existing hardware or jig system uses before switching.
What should an RFQ for DIN 97 wood screws state?
The designation, diameter and length (inside the printed range for that diameter), material and finish, head colour where painted heads are required, and quantity per size. Where the screw passes into hardwood, note the species if pre-drilling guidance matters. Slot and head tolerances are in the table on this page; commercial terms follow the quotation.
What is the MOQ and lead time for these screws?
Minimum order quantity is 10,000 pieces per item. Stocked sizes ship in 3–7 days; non-stock diameters, lengths or finishes are quoted with a confirmed schedule. Common sizes in this designation are widely stocked — confirm the exact schedule against quantity and size mix at quotation.
