ISO 7045 Pan Head Screws with Cross Recess (H or Z)
ISO 7045 pan head screws with cross recess (Phillips-type H or Pozidriv-type Z), M1.6 to M10 — the small-screw workhorse of electronics and appliance assembly — with the full collected 10-size table: head geometry, recess number and penetration depths for both recess series, and thread lengths.
Last updated: 2026-11
Specifications
ISO 7045 is the cross-recessed pan head screw that dominates small assembly work: the surface-seated dome head of DIN 85, driven by a Phillips (Type H) or Pozidriv (Type Z) cross recess instead of a slot, from the smallest M1.6 up to M10. The collected table tabulates the pair of things an assembly line cannot improvise: the Socket No. — the cross-recess size number, 0 through 4, growing with the thread — and the recess geometry for each size in both series: the Ref. dimension and the Penetration depth max/min pair, printed once for Type H (Phillips) and once for Type Z (Pozidriv). Penetration depth is what decides whether the driver bottoms out or spins free, so it is the number to check when switching between H and Z drivers. Head diameter d k and height k carry their min/max limits, and the thread length b ladder runs 15 to 40 mm across the series. The slotted counterpart is DIN 85 on this site; the countersunk form is ISO 7046. Materials, property classes and finishes are not printed by the collected specification and follow the drawing callout.

Ordering & documentation
Documents
Shipments are backed by Mill Test Certificate (MTC), Dimensional Report, Salt Spray Test Report on request, with full batch traceability from raw material to finished product. Quality management follows the owner-confirmed compliance list: ISO 9001:2015, RoHS, REACH. Exact document sets are confirmed on the order.
Quotation
- The fastener family (ISO 7045 Pan Head Screws with Cross Recess (H or Z)) plus the standard designation from your drawing — DIN / ISO / JIS / ASTM / ANSI, or a drawing for custom parts.
- Size (diameter and length), thread type (metric or inch), property class or grade, and coating or finish.
- Quantity per size and your target delivery date.
- Destination country, and any required documents (for example a mill test certificate) so the quote includes them.
Sample & supply
Minimum order quantity is 10,000 pieces. Stock items run 3–7 days. Quantities or variants outside the standard range are confirmed at quotation.
Storage & shipping
Parts are packed for export and shipped factory-direct to buyers in Europe, Asia, the Americas and the Middle East. Store fasteners dry and protected until installation, and keep coated parts in their packaging until use; specific packing and preservation requirements can be stated on the order and confirmed at quotation.
Frequently asked questions
Type H or Type Z — and why does penetration depth matter?
H is the Phillips-style recess, Z the Pozidriv-style one; they look similar but their flanks and driver tips differ, and mixing them is the fastest way to burn a recess out. The table gives each size both series' geometry: the Ref. driving dimension and the max/min penetration depth — how deep the driver sits in the recess. Too shallow and the driver cam-outs under torque; too deep and the tip bottoms out before the head seats. When a drawing says "H or Z", match the driver to the tabulated penetration band for your size rather than assuming the recesses interchange.
What is the MOQ and lead time for these screws?
Minimum order quantity is 10,000 pieces per item. Stocked sizes ship in 3–7 days; non-stock diameters, lengths or finishes are quoted with a confirmed schedule. Common sizes in this designation are widely stocked — confirm the exact schedule against quantity and size mix at quotation.
