DIN 7504-N Self-Drilling Screws (Pan Head, Phillips Recess)
Self-drilling screws per DIN 7504 form N — the collected line page prints the form as pan head with Phillips recess, zinc plated steel — running Ø 3.5 to 5.5 mm × length 9.5 to 60 mm, with per-size max drilling capacity (2–5 mm) and clamping range. Drill and fasten in one operation, no prepared hole.

Specifications
The DIN 7504-N self-drilling screw carries its own drill point: the tip machines the hole, cuts its mating thread and clamps the joint in a single driven operation, which removes the drilling station from thin-to-medium steel assembly — ductwork, profile cladding, soundproofing panels, ventilation channels and waterproofing work. The collected line-page table runs the form across Ø 3.5, 3.9, 4.2, 4.8 and 5.5 mm with lengths from 9.5 to 60 mm, and states two fields most generic tables omit: the maximum drilling capacity per diameter — 2 mm at 3.5/3.9, 3 mm at 4.2, 4 mm at 4.8, 5 mm at 5.5 — and the clamping range of each length, so a joint can be sized so the point drills through the total steel and the thread fully engages before the head seats. At Ø 4.8 the ladder runs thirteen to seventy millimetres long with clamping ranges of 4–61 mm; the Ø 5.5 × 60 mm row is printed without a drilling-capacity figure and that length is quoted with the capacity confirmed. The collected source prints the N form as pan head with a Phillips recess (PH1 to PH3 by diameter). The collected tables cover metric sizes only; the inch TEK point-number series is not carried by this source and is not stated here. For a hexagonal head with serration on the same drilling ladder, see DIN 7504-K.

Materials
- Zinc plated carbon steel (case hardened per the collected hardness row); stainless and other finishes confirmed at quotation
Ordering & documentation
Documents
Shipments are backed by Mill Test Certificate (MTC), Dimensional Report, Salt Spray Test Report on request, with full batch traceability from raw material to finished product. Quality management follows the owner-confirmed compliance list: ISO 9001:2015, RoHS, REACH. Exact document sets are confirmed on the order.
Quotation
- The fastener family (DIN 7504-N Self-Drilling Screws (Pan Head, Phillips Recess)) plus the standard designation from your drawing — DIN / ISO / JIS / ASTM / ANSI, or a drawing for custom parts.
- Size (diameter and length), thread type (metric or inch), property class or grade, and coating or finish.
- Quantity per size and your target delivery date.
- Destination country, and any required documents (for example a mill test certificate) so the quote includes them.
Sample & supply
Minimum order quantity is 10,000 pieces. Stock items run 3–7 days. Quantities or variants outside the standard range are confirmed at quotation.
Storage & shipping
Parts are packed for export and shipped factory-direct to buyers in Europe, Asia, the Americas and the Middle East. Store fasteners dry and protected until installation, and keep coated parts in their packaging until use; specific packing and preservation requirements can be stated on the order and confirmed at quotation.
Frequently asked questions
How do I match a DIN 7504-N length to the steel I am fastening?
With the two printed columns: drilling capacity and clamping range. The drilling capacity is the maximum total steel thickness the point will drill at that diameter (2 mm at Ø 3.5 rising to 5 mm at Ø 5.5); the clamping range is the pack thickness each length carries with the thread fully engaged. Pick a diameter whose drilling capacity covers the total thickness of the layers being joined, then a length whose clamping range brackets that same thickness — for example the Ø 4.8 × 32 mm row drills up to 4 mm and clamps 23 mm. Undersized points stall or snap; lengths far above the clamping need leave point protrusion behind the panel.
DIN 7504-N or DIN 7504-K — both self-drill, what decides the choice?
Head form and drive. The N form here is printed as pan head with a Phillips recess — a proud head driven by a Phillips bit; the K form is a hexagonal head with serration driven by a socket, where the serration bites against the driver and survives higher torque on structural-ish framing. Both run the same drilling-capacity ladder (the K table extends to Ø 6.3 × 140 mm), so the choice follows the head your panel system calls for and the tool on site. Keep the form the drawing prints — the heads are not interchangeable in seating height.
What is the MOQ and lead time for these self-drilling screws?
Minimum order quantity is 10,000 pieces per item. Stocked sizes ship in 3–7 days; non-stock diameters, lengths or finishes are quoted with a confirmed schedule. Self-drilling screws in the common DIN 7504 sizes are widely stocked — confirm the exact schedule against quantity and size mix at quotation.
What should an RFQ for self-drilling (TEK) screws state?
State the standard designation and form letter (for example DIN 7504 N or DIN 7504 K), screw diameter and length, the total thickness and type of the metal being drilled through and clamped, head form and drive, finish (for example zinc plated), required certificates such as a mill test report per EN 10204 3.1, and quantity per size — plus destination country.
