Specifications

DIN 7500C is a thread-rolling (thread-forming) machine screw: a screw with a machine-screw thread that rolls — not cuts — its own mating thread into a pre-drilled hole in ductile material. The formed thread is work-hardened by the screw that made it, giving a stronger, burr-free, chip-free joint than tapping, and the screw itself carries a full standard metric thread, so the joint can later be serviced with an ordinary machine screw of the same size. The collected page specifies the Type C execution: a pan head per DIN 7985 with a cross recess, driven Phillips (Form H) or Pozidriv (Form Z) — the recess depths m are tabulated separately per form, and the recess number (1 through 4) follows the size ladder. The series runs M2 to M10 with pitch, minimum thread length b, head diameter d k and head height k per size. The hole it forms in is sized to the screw (drill diameters are a mating-part decision, not tabulated by the collected specification), and material choice matters: thread rolling suits steel, aluminium, brass, die-castings and sheet — not brittle or hard materials. Property classes and finishes stay per RFQ.

Standard DIN 7500C — cross recessed pan head thread rolling screws, Type C pan head acc. to DIN 7985 (as printed on the collected page), Pozidriv cross recess Z
Series M2 – M10 (three source column groups: M2/M2.5/M3, (M3.5)/M4/M5, M6/M8/M10; parenthesized non-preferred sizes)
Tabulated geometry Per size: pitch P (0.4–1.5), b min (16–40), d k (max/min), k (max/min), Socket No. (1–4), recess depth m split Form H (Phillips) / Form Z (Pozidriv)
Joint Thread-rolls its mating thread into a drilled hole in ductile material (steel, aluminium, brass, die-cast, sheet); drill diameter and hole prep are per mating design — not tabulated by the collected specification
Property classes / finishes Not tabulated by the collected specification — per RFQ (state the host material and thickness at quotation)
DIN 7500C cross recessed pan head thread rolling screws - per-size dimensions (M2 - M3)All dimensions in millimeters. Materials

  • Material and finish specified per RFQ — name the host material (sheet steel, aluminium, die-cast) and hole diameter so the forming pair is confirmed at quotation

Ordering & documentation

Documents

Shipments are backed by Mill Test Certificate (MTC), Dimensional Report, Salt Spray Test Report on request, with full batch traceability from raw material to finished product. Quality management follows the owner-confirmed compliance list: ISO 9001:2015, RoHS, REACH. Exact document sets are confirmed on the order.

Quotation

  • The fastener family (DIN 7500C Cross Recessed Pan Head Thread Rolling Screws) plus the standard designation from your drawing — DIN / ISO / JIS / ASTM / ANSI, or a drawing for custom parts.
  • Size (diameter and length), thread type (metric or inch), property class or grade, and coating or finish.
  • Quantity per size and your target delivery date.
  • Destination country, and any required documents (for example a mill test certificate) so the quote includes them.

Sample & supply

Minimum order quantity is 10,000 pieces. Stock items run 3–7 days. Quantities or variants outside the standard range are confirmed at quotation.

Storage & shipping

Parts are packed for export and shipped factory-direct to buyers in Europe, Asia, the Americas and the Middle East. Store fasteners dry and protected until installation, and keep coated parts in their packaging until use; specific packing and preservation requirements can be stated on the order and confirmed at quotation.

Frequently asked questions

Why roll the thread instead of cutting it (DIN 7985 into a tapped hole)?

Because the formed thread is the stronger one and the process is the cheaper one at volume. A rolled thread is cold-worked: the flanks end up work-hardened with a burnished surface and no chips, and the mating thread in the host material is formed by displacement, so there is no tapping operation, no tap breakage in the line, and no swarf to wash out of the assembly. The collected tables carry the two-form recess detail (Form H Phillips and Form Z Pozidriv depths m per size) because drive reliability matters in automated driving — Pozidriv Z cams out less under torque, which is the recess the collected page names in its title. The limits are material and service: rolling needs ductility, so hardened steel, cast iron or very thin brittle plating are out; and the formed joint is strongest when the hole is drilled to the size the forming geometry expects, so state the host material and hole with the RFQ. After forming, the joint services like an ordinary M-thread — a standard machine screw replaces the forming screw if a joint is ever reworked.

What is the MOQ and lead time for this screw type?

The minimum order quantity is 10,000 pieces. Stock items ship in 3–7 days; non-stock items are confirmed at quotation. Common sizes in this screw type are widely stocked; confirm the exact schedule against quantity and size mix at quotation.
